[Recovery] TWRP 2.8.3.0 (Unofficial)

Full TeamWin credits are on the TWRP page on the TeamWin website: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2

Introduction:
Team Win Recovery Project or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It's a fully touch driven user interface , no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

Key Features:
Touchscreen driven with real buttons and drag-to-scroll
XML-based GUI that allows full customization of the layout true theming!
Settings are saved to the sdcard and persist through reboots
Ability to choose which partitions to back up and which to restore
Ability to choose to compress backups now with pigz (multi-core processor support for faster compression times)
Onscreen keyboard
Decryption of /data
Easy selection of internal/external storage
See changelog below for new features

In addition to the above new features, TWRP features a scripting engine that allows an app to send commands to the recovery for the recovery to perform during startup. We call this scripting engine OpenRecoveryScript. This engine will be put to use immediately in the GooManager app. GooManager will be able to install recoveries automatically for most supported devices. The app will also let you choose to install multiple zips from within Android, wipe cache & dalvik, and run a backup.

We are looking for other talented developers, themers, and device maintainers if they are interested in helping with a free, open source project.

are you in bootloader mode or fastboot mode? there is an option in t hboot to switch back and forth

ahhh! that's what it was. thanks a lot, problem is now i'm on windows 8.1 i tried all the xda fixes n drivers to make it read would not recognize driver... that being said for anyone not able to install no matter the reason.... DOWNLOAD Flashify https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify&hl=en from play store...make sure to have ES Explorer already installed. Once Flashify installed give it root rights then choose flash recovery option, Click Es Explorer option inside Flashify APP, find your image on SD, select YUP! to flash. Just be sure you have a LEGIT recovery image your flashing or one you trust like this one found in this thread or you may lose recovery. Worked first try this method :)

Hi,

I am experiencing error in creating backup, after the process ends it says in red "failed". I copied the recovery log into pastebin: http://pastebin.com/mS6dAG65

had to remove some lines as the log was too large for paste bin, so removed lots of repetitive entries "setting selinux context: u:eek:bject_r:unlabeled:s0 I:addFile '/data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant' including root: 0"

I'm pasting below the last lines of log. Any ideas what is the reason for fail- and more important- is there a way to check if the backup created is good for use?
