My phone won't reboot, please help!

Following the direction, I rooted my Note 2 i317m, everything is ok until the phone start reboot, and it stalled at the Samsung name and won't load the data. What can be done to resolve the problem? please help.

Little Confused

So i am absolutely new to rooting. I have some experience in Linux but never felt the need to mess with my phone, until now.

Anyway I tried this and got no where, I am confident that i followed the direction to the letter.

But when i hit start on the odin tool, i get a "all threads complete. (succeed 0/ failed 0)"

Im guessing that this mean it just didnt see my phone, but i dont know why it dosnt see me phone.

I pulled my phone out of odin mode and it booted fine.

Thanks, And i appreciate the simplified guide.

Try booting into recovery mode (By holding the home Button + Volume up button then press the power button for 5 secounds) Now choose the option "Wipe Data\Factory reset" Or any similar option then reboot and it should work.Note:this will erase all your data(apps, contacts, messages)
If that didn't work then I think you will have to flash your rom again using odin.

Sorry for the late reply but I was busy lately :(
Anyway make sure you see light blue coloured box under “ID:COM” in Odin…..If that box was white with no writing inside it then you have to make sure:
1-You have Installed the samsung drivers (if you have them installed then remove them and reinstall)
2-Also make sure Samsung Kies or any other similar software is active in the background.(like Sony PC companion,Etc)
3-You start Odin as an administrator.
Hopefully this will solve your problem.

But now during the root process after the restart my phone just goes back to my stock, with all my apps and files still there.

Now Im not sure whats going wrong. I do have usb debugging on, should that be off?

What do you mean by stock...?
And do you see the SuperSu in your app drawer?

Rooted mine and then it somehow became unrooted?
Sorry but I didn't understand,do you mean after you rooted and saw SuperSu in your app drawer it disappeared and your Note 2 became unrooted..?

Well,Locked bootloader usually are only on Motorola,Sony and the nexus devices(Maybe other OEMs also). Also, devices from carriers may also have locked bootloaders depending on your note 2 version.
or this phone come already with the bootloader unlocked and is just necesary to root and thats all, and then instal recovery right?
Depending on your Note 2 version but probably the bootloader will be unlocked you will only have to root and then install any custom recovery you prefer. Therefore if your device is supported to be rooted using method 1 I will advice you to do it.Because it will flash a custom Recovery and then root your device in the same time.

Binary Count and Other Questions?

Hi,

I have a couple of questions about rooting my GT-N7100.

1. Will method one increase the binary count for my phone? I understand this is part of what Samsung uses to determine warranty eligibility and I'm not sure I'm ready to lose warranty completely unless the binary count is reversible.

2. Is there a way to do this from MAC OS X? I have tried finding info on doing it from my Mac, but have not been successful yet.

3. Is there a way to completely revert the phone to original if I do this?

Thanks for putting up with the n00b questions!

It will probably increase your binary count. But yes it can be reversible by using chainfire's triangle away.To revert the phone to its original state you will need to flash a Samsung official firmware and then use triangle away to reset your binary count.Hopefully this will be enough for you to get your warranty back.
Note: you have to make sure your Samsung Galaxy note 2 is supported by triangle away.
If you want to root only and stay as stock as possible I will recommend method 2 but if you want also to install a custom recovery then method 1 is more preferred.

Actually I'am not sure if there are the same programs that will work on MAC OS X..
So, I advice you to borrow a windows computer or if you couldn't borrow one you can also install windows virtually on your MAC OS X using programs like virtualbox.

Well, yes you will get updates from Samsung and you will get notified when there are any updates.BUT before you update I advice you to unroot your device because keeping root might make some problems. For your second question you can't root and keep your phone status to official it will always be change to modified. So, to change it again to official you will have to unroot and then it should change to official again,if you where planning to go to a Samsung service center you will also have to use triangle away to reset your binary count.

    Hello XDA,
I know there are lot of guides on how to root the Galaxy Note 2,but unfortunately I have not seen a guide that is clear enough to beginners that know nothing about Android. So, after hard work I have done a guide on how to root the Samsung Galaxy note 2 and put it in your hands.

Note:I Have Also Made A Picture Full Guide So, IF This Guide Wasn't Clear For You, You Can Go HERE

    Introduction:
Today, I will guide you on how you can root your Samsung Galaxy Note 2.This method is the most easiest, safest and the fastest method up to date. To start off, the method will take little time but it’s more guaranteed to work on any Galaxy Note 2.

    Disclaimer:
I’m not responsible if something went wrong on your phone(Usually nothing goes wrong), you’re doing this on your own responsibility. Rooting your phone will void your warranty so don’t root your device unless you know what you are doing. To know more about rooting check What is rooting and it’s top 10 benefits.

    Method: Rooting using Odin: [Recommended]
This method works for almost all Galaxy Note 2s,and it will only root and install busybox.
All credits go for Chainfire for making the CF-autoroot make a look at the Original Thread

    Requirements:

    1-Download these files:
1-CF-Autoroot Depending on your model number which could be found in Setting-> About Phone:
    A) For N7100 Model go HERE.
    B) For N7105 Model go HERE.
    C) SHV-E250K Model go HERE.
    D) SHV-E250L Model go HERE.
    E) SHV-E250S Model go HERE.
    F) SPH-L900 Model go HERE
    G) SGH-I317 Model go HERE
    H) SGH-I317M Model go HERE
    I) SGH-T889 (T-Mobile version) Model go HERE

IF you didn't see your model number above don't try this method because it might brick your phone.

    2-Odin 3.07 From HERE.
3-Samsung USB Drivers from HERE and then install them.
4-Make sure to fully backup your device.Check our post on How to Backup Every Android Mobile Phone.
5-Make sure to backup your EFS file immediately after rooting your device.

Step1:Extract the CF-Autoroot until you got a file with .tar.md5

    Step2: Extract odin307.zip then run Odin3 v3.07 as administrator.

Step3:Shutdown your Note 2 completely. Then, hold down the volume down button+ the home button then press the power button for 5 seconds, after you will see a warning screen just press volume up.

Step4: Now click on “PDA” and choose the .tar.md5 file we downloaded earlier. Then connect the USB cable to your computer then to your Galaxy Note 2. Now Click on “Start”.

Step5: Once it successfully finishes you will see “Pass” in the above table of the “ID:COM”

    * In Some cases Knox disabled SuperSu to work probably. So,if SuperSU wasn’t working probably for you.Download the latest version of SuperSU from the Play Store. Then on launch it will ask you to disable Knox and you should accept.Hope that solve it.

    Conclusion:
That's it! Easily rooted. to unroot your device and reclaim your warranty visit How to Un-root Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Don't feel bad and not to disappoint you but when you providing guide its your duty to explain detail about pros and cons of each method as well prepare yourself to provide correct and detail information as much as

Hopefully these methods are the latest. And yes you can root and stick to the stock rom,for that I advise you to follow method 2.And when you root your galaxy note 2 your warrenty is void so you should before going to Samsung Service Center to uninstall all root apps and unroot your device.
just unrooting won't revoke warranty you need to do more

Method 2 of course because it will only root your phone by installing a kernal (CF-Autoroot)
    it won't flash kernel

Note:I Have Also Made A Picture Full Guide So, IF This Guide Wasn't Clear For You, You Can Go HERE

you can attach image here too, why XDA members needs to go to third party web site to see just image

Hope you can correct earliest in favor of newbies

As I said ketan's guide is enough.
And ketan it would be not wrong to say that your guide is difficult to be found by people.
