If you read what I posted, I am not saying the battery is causing the heat directly, but its location and size results in the heat dissipation being concentrated in the right where the SoC is.

I did not the stresstest, but last night I measured temperature while playing "monopoly" for 1h.

Base: 62 Celsius
Max Temp: 72 Celsius
Screen Brightness: appr. 20%
Not charging, A700 standing on my hips, I was in bed, 23 degrees in room.

I was wondering, because at day the CPU gets between 80 and 85 degrees.
Google Crome results in less heat than stock browser, but stutters more. With Stock I had 75 and Crome is below 70. Stunning.

I ran the Setcpu stress test for 20 minutes this morning. It rebooted at that point...

So am I unreasonable to think I should be able to run that as long as I want without issues?

Some guy told me on a (Dutch) site about tablets that he read it on another site about tablets. I felt like I had to post it on here, but with the question if anybody could confirm. When I called a retailer they said that they were not familiar with those problems, but when I sent mine back they'll send me another one. So I don't think it was the Acer A700 he had been reading about.

here are my test results...

My device is A701 with 3g (sim installed and wifi enabled)
It is not rooted.
Go launcher HD is installed.
no other mods or anything yet.
Screen brightness on auto (I was indoors with room lights on)

I checked the temp when the device woke up from sleep and it was around 42C

Using default browser to open 3 tabs and temp jumped to 48C

closed the browser and started playing the Real Racing 3d preinstalled game. Completed 3 full laps of quick race and checked the temp and it had reached 71C after 4:54 of race time.

device felt warm on the bottom right side. I have a folding cover (leather kind) on it.

By the way is there a way to determine when was the Tablet manufactured?

regards,

Faraz
