Installed update from play store...now it fc everytime i try to open.
if you look at the store, looks like 30 people or so have the issue.
i'm having the same issue and switched for now to another launcher.
@dev, please fix.:fingers-crossed:
Installed update from play store...now it fc everytime i try to open.
Luckily i've still tw launcher and switched to nova time ago.
That force close is a bit unfortunate, lol.
Market is raging hard about this update.. oh boy. 'Now I have to install my ROM again!!!11'.. Apparently not so many people know how to react to a broken launcher.
FOR ALL WITH PROBLEMS......USE LAST BETA VERSION FIRST
Here:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/106208842/ApexLauncher_v1.3.0beta6.apk
and please don't rate playstore reviews down......this issue isn't nice but could happen. I'm sure this will be fixed as soon as possible (don't forget when a dev upload a new apk on playstore we have to wait a bit till we get the new update).
conclusion.....please use the uploaded above and be patient.
Peace :highfive:
From op first site......use adb if you have no other launcher installed on your system.
Install as regular app (root not required)
Or you may also copy/download the apk file on your device and install it using Astro etc.
Note: Due to limitations of the Android framework, you won't be able to add widgets from the app drawer without root access. If your device is rooted, please enable the Root Helper via Settings > Advanced settings > Enable Root Helper.
Install as system app (root required)
Code:
adb remount
adb push ApexLauncher_v1.3.0beta6.apk /system/app
Or you may also move the APK file to the /system/app directory manually. Make sure you set the file permission properly. To uninstall, please remove ApexLauncher.apk from /system/app manually.
When Apex Launcher is installed as a system app, the Root Helper will be disabled automatically and the in-drawer widgets feature should work without it. If it doesn't, please reboot your device and try again.
you may be right but to those who have auto update on then they have a big problem.
guys......if someone has autoupdate active......two possibilitys.......install from playstore website (from laptop, pc) another launcher on your phone or push via adb another one. then you have a working launcher....go to playstore, turn off auto update....install latest apex beta.
If you still have problems cause apex was standard launcher delete apk first via adb.
Stuck with no adb installed on the computer and no other launcher around, but still have computer and USB cable?
Here is a fix that worked for me.
1. Connect USB co computer and to phone, there will be a notification about usb.
2. You can now press the notification icon, and bu default there is a Settings icon
3. Click the Settings icon, go to Applications
4. Find Apex and click on it, it should show info about the app.
5. Press Uninstall Updates and it should revet to the latest stable 1.3.0 but with all settings reset to default.
6. Go to Apex Launcher options, restore settings from backup (apex and desktop), if any ;D
7. Optional: go to Apex Launcher options, About, Check for updates, latest beta, select it, then check for updates.
How to access drawer again!!
INSTALL ANOTHER LAUNCHER FROM GOOGLE PLAYSTORE WEBSIDE!!
I was stuck in the crash bootloop, i went to google playstore via my PC browser and installed Zeam Launcher from there, this gets pushed / installed on the phone and you can access your drawer again.
Hope this helps!
Hi, I just experienced this problem.
However, I have found a work-around:
- on the desktop-pc, go to the play-store
- sign in with your google-account
- find another launcher (i choose 'Zeam Launcher' because it is small and has a good & robust reputation)
- click 'install' (and make sure your phone is selected as the target)
This 'pushes' another launcher to your phone and when it is installed you can start it by tapping on the 'ready' message from the notification bar.
So... no need to re-install your ROM, just use another launcher until the Apexproblem is fixed...

Ok,
Installing beta helped, everything is normal now.
Thanks for this temp solution.
I really want to know how many users switched to Nova after this disaster .
adb install ApexLauncher.apk
adb remount
adb push ApexLauncher.apk /system/app
