Youtube/Google Play Services update. This time I replaced all the Google-signed system apks, ones from a stock fruitcake. Unfortunately that didn't work until I wiped the data/cache and started over. This did work! I'm not quite ready to start over from scratch again just yet, so next I'll try to figure out if we can just delete the /data/data folders for those apks, rather than a full factory wipe. There are a lot of behind the scenes apks so I'm not sure how easy that will be. I'd try to update the rom itself or make a flashable zip, but honestly I haven't had much luck doing those things, maybe it's because I'm on windows.

So to get google play services installed correctly, find a stock fruitcake (I recommend a deodexed one on the reboot project). I actually used a nandroid backup from when I had that stock installed. You can use explorer2fs for windows to get files out of the system.img. In /system/app grab the following files:
Gmail.apk
GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk
GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk
GoogleFeedback.apk
GooglePartnerSetup.apk
GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
GoogleServicesFramework.apk
MarketUpdater.apk
NetworkLocation.apk
SetupWizard.apk
Talk2.apk
Vending.apk
copy them to your /system/app, make sure to chmod 644. Then wipe cache and data in CWM.

I can't imagine that work, because, for one, I did that originally, and two, the signatures will still be wrong

TEAM Battery Bar upgrade to PRO

I have this ROM/CWM Recovery/faux123 1.2Ghz Kernel.
I have the T.E.A.M. Battery Bar running and I want to upgrade to the 'PRO' version.
I can DL the Pro version and install it, but the Pro app wants to remove/delete the old 'Free' app, but it fails to do so as its part of the ROM.

How do I remove the old 'Free' app?

Hi!

You have two options: Either delete the apk and .odex file from /system/app and reboot or download system app mover from the market and move it to /data/app so it can be easily removed.

Either way, you need to do a nandroid backup, just in case

The only thing I understood is "nandroid backup"........

Hehe :)

First thing first: Do a nandroid backup, so if we mess up you can still go back.

Second, install this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.systemappmover

open it and search the app from the list it shows you. It then will ask if you want to move it to normal app. confirm and reboot
now you should be able to unninstall the app

Free version moved, deleted.
TEAM Battery Bar Pro is problematic, the animations don't work.
FYI, systemappmover was in my ROM(?) as the installer indicated, unless I previously installed it and forgot...
I only wanted the pro version because of the animations, I have the app in my Samsung, its quite nice.
Oddly enough though, I had SOME animations working when both the free and pro versions were in the phone,,,,,,go figure....

my 3 month old Atrix developed camera problem, camera app starts, no pic in viewer, can't take a photo

re run installer, re installed camera from Aroma, same problem.
re run installer again, installed different (stock) camera, same problem

if I switch to other lens, after very long delay picture from rear lens does appear, can take photo

it seems the main lens/circuitry is gone?

Is there any point in full reset/ full (destructive) ROM install?
any other app or test to confirm camera failed?

running at standard 1ghz, according to battery monitor at some point it shows 46 degrees temperature, could that be the cause?

is it time to start looking for new phone.....?
disappointed and dejected.... just out of the 90 day warranty...

oops, meant to post in new Nottachtrix thread, sorry

i have to say this is the best rom i have found for this device. its very quick and isnt a ram hogger

had a few problems but i seem to have fixed it. got "google play services is needed" dont bother installing from the market because it wont istall but instead download the updated version of gapps and do a factory reset in recovery then reboot, it should work then

I know what you guys are talking about. There is a way to make it just add apps but it will take a good amount of time to write the aroma script and i haven't had a chance to sit down and write it up. Ill put it in my mind and think about it over the next few days. Believe me, I want it too. But Aroma is still rapidly evolving and syntax changes also keep me from changing at the moment. Aroma 2 stable will probably lead to big changes in the installer, including more langs. Bear with me, I ain't no pro.
