Im no fan of Samsung btw, I even hope something better than the S5 will be available next spring.
EDIT: Maybe TW was design (badly) to be smooth if you only disable some of the bloatwares. That would explain why my phone is so smooth and has an amazing battery life. Ill make a list of what I removed and/or disables from the stock so people can try to replicate what I have. It will be very interesting IMO.
Expect the list by the end of the week.
PS: I still have many Samsung apps/services running on my phone.
You are correct, I am a seasoned android user with experience which is a blessing and a curse. The curse here is that I know this phone shouldn't be running this poorly, even with custom roms and kernels. When you see a phone like the G2 unrooted out of the box in this example, running much better than a rooted S4, you know there is a problem in Samsung's optimization of their software. In my opinion of course.
Regardless of what you freeze, which rom you're running and which kernel you're running, open a folder and look at some of the app enter and exit animations. Stutter. Exit out of an app and start scrolling through the home screens. Stutter (sometimes). I will admit, I am super sensitive to lag and stutter. So the stuff I'm seeing may not bother you or someone else. Or maybe you don't even notice it. But I do. To each their own of course. And completely turning off animations should not need to be done and it kills the experience to me.
If you are happy with your S4 and aren't experiencing lag, then that's great man. Enjoy your phone, because that's what it's all about. Whichever phone makes you happy is the best phone for you regardless of what me or anyone else says.

I have heard that the white version is available for pre-order at Best Buy and it will be available 9/13.
