USB Ethernet Adapter - Which brand is Working

There are lots of USB ethernet adapters around, Just wanted to share my experience .

First i bought this , Which is not working with Prime . Prime is not even recognizing this one.

Then went to Radioshak and brought this one, Which works beautifully with Prime.

Hi, I ordered this and it arrived today and works great. Picks it up straight away as an ethernet port. Got 40 mbs. I am in the uk.

Thanks a lot for this first hand experience guys - I buy my stuff from Amazon either in the UK or the USA and live on the other side of the world so I need to make sure that the stuff I purchase actually works as returns are not an option!

I have tried two devices, and both work well:

Because the Monoprice device doesn't have any cable, I recommend getting a short USB extension cable to use with it. The device plugs into the keyboard dock and the Cat 5 cable, which is thick, cumbersome and a bit unforgiving, plugs into the other end and creates unwanted tension. I got a 1.5 foot USB extension cable for less than $1:

Both of these devices work well with the Transformer Prime.

The Belkin one looks by far the nicest, I have always found them to make quality products too.

Hi, before I buy one, I need to figure this thing out first.

My ADSL MODEM requires a pppoe tool for my PC to connect. If I use a usb ethernet adapter on prime, how do I go on line? is there any pppoe apk that works for prime? thanks.

The speedtest.net result in your signature, is that from your Prime connected via that USB gigabit dongle?

If not, would you mind posting your results using the same connection you have setup in your video?

You won't regret it!

Edit: Besides, you'll be able to use it on things other than the Prime as well! JUST REMEMBER that once the Prime goes to sleep (the screen turns off), it will no longer be connected to the internet!

Adapter got here a day Early....

Plugged Right in,Found by Prime immediately,turnon on Ethernet in Settings and Worked like a Charm...

I don't have the dock. Could I use the usb cable that came with the Prime and some type of female-to-female adapter to get something working?

Thanks, I knew about the adapter. It is more expensive than a Monoprice gender changer however, which is the reason I asked the question. Just trying to save some $'s!
