First: Iam on stock 4.0.4 ...is it safe to root on this version?
Second: Does the software you mentioned in the links support Arabic language?
Third: i bought this phone about a week ago and iam facing lags while playing asphalt 7 and browsing and for facebook....is there any wrong with my Device?

Oh my god... this phone is the most frustrating piece of crap i've ever owned :D I thought Defy was hard to root after samsungs... wow. Not even close. Maybe this fifth time is different. Afterall second PC just got through "step1" but step2 did nothing. Perhaps after doing everything like i've done four times so far makes the difference. :p

Edit: Yup... Daemon started successfully... and nothing...

Yay... took three computers, six or seven flash/step/flash/step dance and boom... Step2 magically ran successfully all the way.

Have you tried this guide?
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1737929

You should end up with 2.3.7 if you can flash and root your phone correctly.

I can confirm this works with the Sony Xperia Acro S, just rooted mine! It wasn't easy though, I encountered a lot of problems...just make sure you have all the drivers installed and you're flashing the correct ROMS :)

    Ok, i've read and tried some method posted here but so far no luck. Got stuck at step 5 with a lot of errors. Since I could not read anything, i didn't even know what the heck i did wrong. So i decided to bit the bullet. I've heard that rooting the Acro S and the Xperia is the same, only needs different files. So I use the method here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1742992 combine with the 2.3.7 SO-03D and 4.0.4 Acro S files. I've rooted my Acro S successfully.

    So to sum it up:

    You need:
    Rooting kit: http://www.mediafire.com/?o1v2o6afuoc1w33
    Flashtool 0.9.0.0
    The Acro HD (SO-03D) 2.3.7 files: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1710051
    The Acro S 4.0.4 file: http://ul.to/zk8odftj Mirror 1

    Link for whole pack: http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/AVQRKL0J/acro.7z_links

    Prepare:

    (1) Application Settings: [Unknown sources] checked {Allowed}
    (2) Application Settings: Development [USB debugging] checked {Allowed}
    (3) Application Settings: Development [Stay awake] checked {Allowed}
    (4) Settings -> Display settings [Screen timeout] Set to 30 minutes
    *If your screen goes off just once then you won’t be able to return to the installation properly. Very important!!
    Please think about your battery and try to keep the display brightness to a minimum.
    (5) Please use a regular picture for the background. Do not use the default live wallpaper.
    (6) Charge the Xperia S’s battery to 80%.

    How to:
    - Turn off the Acro S. Prepare to flash the 2.3.7 file: check all of the Wipe column, uncheck the rest.
    - Plug in the Acro S while holding the volume down. Wait for the flashing to be completed and close Flashtool
    - Turn on the Acro S. Connect it to computer via USB with USB debugging mode on.
    - Run step1.bat
    - Flash 4.0.4 files using Flashtool, don't wipe anything, also check no final verification. Close flashtool after finished.
    - Turn on the Acro S. Connect it via USB.
    - Run Step2.bat
    - You should get a lot of messages like "pushing SuperSU" and the phone will reboot during this process.
    - Enjoy full root :D

    18/056/2012 13:56:53 - ERROR - You can find them in the drivers folder of Flashtool.

    18/057/2012 13:57:43 - INFO - Flash canceled

    You missing the ADB drivers.

    This can be found in the Flashtool folder "C:/FlashTool/Drivers"

    Install All drivers related to ACRO HD . Acro HD Drivers would work for the Acro S as well.

    Try again after that.

    Note: you need to close FlashTool properly to make the .bat files run smoothly. To do this:
    On FlashTool (1st tab) Click on exit. Run the .bat files after that.

    Also note that, you need to macke sure you device is running in , USB DEBUGGING MODE, MSC USB TRANSFER MODE AND UNKNOWN SOURCES Must be activated as well as STAY AWAKE. 30mins stay inactive before locking.

    Wallpaper isnt compulsory.

    well sadly it doesnt support version .55 -_-

    This method does. Just used it on a fully updated Xperia Acro S.

    After achieving root, I used this method to install CWM.

    EDIT: It turns out that running Step 2 from the rooting kit in the first post of this thread will install the same CWM.

    Hmm, I cant seem to download the Acro HD 2.3.7 ftf file from the link or any of the mirrors in the thread you had posted.

    I found this mirror which looks like the same file (I can't post links yet so this is the best I can do):

    4shared [dot ] com/file/1cS7w_NF/SO-03D_60A512_docomo.html

    Can't confirm as I couldn't get the links in the other thread to work either, but the file name is the same.
