Update EE to HG3

Hi people

I brought a secondhand phone which was locked to EE T mobile, EE are not pushing out any updates I'm currently on HG3 and i have unlocked the phone. Is there anyway i can make my phone get a update from HG3 or can i flash my phone with a unlocked Rom or HG£ rom or something like that.
