[Q] Concidering switching to iOS, change my opinion!
So, I've been an Android user ever since I swapped my iPhone 3G for a Desire, way back at Android 2.2.
Back then, my iPhone felt dated, and even though it had a lot of nice features, it completely fell through on simple features such as copy paste, and I felt like it treated me like a little child.
But much have changed, and through it's incremental updates, iOS now has fixed what was missing way back. A quick toggle menu, and flat, sleek and extremely responsive UI.
I'm a power user, and I've tried all kinds of ROMs on all kinds of Android devices. Right now I have an N4.
I think I'm fine with not being able to customize too much if they've gotten it right the first time around.
Thoughtful innovation and avoiding the spec race with unneccecary 1080p screens, 3000mAh batteries, and gimmicky features involving eye tracking and hover hands that noone has ever used. The Anandtech review of Apple's hardware decisions made a lot of sense and really won me over.
So here's my arguments so far:
UI consistency and general niceness
Spotify has Airplay support, but not Chromecast, and never will have (they announced that they are going to make their own system instead)
With the possible exception of HTC One, I think Apple's design quality goes unmatched.
Both camera and sound quality is excellent. Probably comparable to a S4, but I'd never accept the compromise of Touchwiz hell. Well-calibtrated displays give an impressive percieved image quality.
Screen size - is 4" too small? ( have 4.7" now, but I think it's a bit unwieldy - is this just my phone design or does all phones at this size feel like that? 4.7" is nice for reading, I read a lot of long articles on it.
Already tied up in the Google Play ecosystem, and I must say that I prefer it over App Store. Lower prices, more functional apps, not a store dominated by child's apps without any innovation behind them.
Will I get bored?
Google Maps is superior to Apple maps (but by how much? Has it improved greatly since last? I don't use a car.)
Tell me what I will miss and convince me to stay!
