I just updated to 14.4.A.0.108 via PC Companion and I'm looking for a way to root. Is there any functional difference between munjeni's "newroot" tool and zxz0O0's "Easy Root Tool" except the way it is applied (single binary vs script and multiple files) ? Does this disable RIC and make /system permanently writeable?

Yes its full functional ! But do not replace busybox since you will lose recovery and root, I will add support for diferent busybox soon !
