Next version will probably have the fix.

If you want to try it now, you can take /system/lib/hw/audio.primary.aries.so from the latest CM9 nightly zip and push it onto your device overwriting the same file, then reboot.

From the latest Nightly version 421 extracted audio.primary.aries.so
http://www.mediafire.com/?1jfbfxyff825gvr

I have not tried it yet but i thought people could use it rather than downloading the entire nightly.

First call after using the fix: Mute/unmute was solved - This was the same contact i called pre-fix and had the problem so im guessing it should be fixed now.
Thanks FE.

New issue. Can anyone turn down the volume when using the YouTube app? Its either full blast or vibrate.

Edit: can't change the volume for any app that plays sound. Maybe something got corrupt.... will reflash when next update is out

Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA

It's working fine for me...

Gapps updated today now says Google play not installed

Why are you flashing GAPPS? This is not CM9, Google Apps like Play store, Youtube, Maps etc. they are all part of the ROM already unless you chose not to install maps, but play store etc. should be there. Apps will auto-update you don't need GAPPS for anything besides CyanogenMod stuff. -usually.

If you can't boot into the ROM itself, i really don't know how you can save any of your info (app backups etc)

hi all.
The ROM is great, but for some reason the phone is very hot all the time, even when (it's supposed to be) in deep sleep.
also the battery is empty very fast, I was using the phone at school today for 4 hours, from which maybe 20 minutes of actual usage and the rest of the time the screen was off. When I came home I had 17% battery.
I don't use 3G and haven't used wifi.

I came from exROM, and followed all instructions.

Download CPU spy and see if your phone is not going into deep sleep.

Are you running another kernel or OCed at all?

CPU spy shows that most of the time (74%) my phone is at 100MHz mode, and deep sleep is only 13%.
However, 100MHz seems low enough to me for the phone to stay at normal temperature and battery life.
I am using the stock kernel (ICY V14) and I have no OC.

ICY Glitch isn't the stock kernel BTW.

As for the DS, you might want to invest in BetterBatteryStats and check for any long wakelocks.

You also appear to be using extensive modifications. Have you tried a fresh reinstall with no mods and see if your problem persists?

hi.
While installing WeUI 1.0, the Icy kernel was the stock kernel, and the only option to choose in the installer menu.
Same applies to the modifications, I haven't changed anything since the install, only restored my apps using Titanium.
So I am a bit confused, could you please clarify?

Have you rebooted especially after restoring the apps? Miui tends to like to be rebooted before everything settles in.
Give it a little time you will be happy if you do.

    v2.0 (Full ROM)
    http://android.gcfam.net/devs/NightShack0/weui/WeUI_v2.0_by_NightShack0.zip

(Please donate as a thanks for the ROM and what I have done)

To install properly and avoid any problem follow these steps:

    Coming from Gingerbread
    1. Reboot to recovery
    2. Open/flash the WeUI zip file you downloaded on recovery
    3. On the installer choose your device, and select "Data Wipe"
    4. Select "Install Now"
    5. Your device will reboot to recovery at the start of the installation (if you get a recovery bootloop or it doesn't reboot to recovery, do it manually)
    6. Open the WeUI zip file again from recovery
    7. The installation will continue where it left off and finish by itself
    8. Reboot

    Coming from another ICS ROM
    1. Reboot to recovery
    2. Open/flash the WeUI zip file you downloaded on recovery
    3. On the installer choose your device, and select "Data Wipe"
    4. Select "Install Now"
    5. Reboot

    Updating from older WeUI
    1. Reboot to recovery
    2. Open/flash the WeUI zip file you downloaded on recovery
    3. On the installer choose your device, and select "Cache Wipe" (if coming from certain old WeUI versions you will need Data Wipe)
    4. Install it
    5. Reboot

720p recording isnt working for me! Why?!
It should be working without any changes, but if you see this happen, flash http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1575485 and report that it didn't work at first.

I found a bug or problem in your ROM, what should I do?
Try to read the thread for possible solutions, and if you can't find anything, then post the problem without complaining and try to describe as much as you can the problem and when it happened, etc. Please use the "Report MIUI" option if you experience a force close which will open the "WeUI Feedback app" and it will automatically add the logcat information of that force close, but please describe your problem and don't just send the log. (Most logs will be ignored if you don't describe your problem)

Some theme elements are not getting changed!!
Right now only certain things work on themes like lockscreen, icons, etc. But other stuff doesn't get themed or doesn't look right, this is a thing that MIUI will fix in an upcoming release

Why is there a Torch app? Galaxy S devices don't have a LED flash!
I know there's no LED flash, but the Torch is not an app and can't be deleted that easily, it's on the System UI and can't figure out how to do it correctly

After a long time of no updates:

New WeUI test version v2.0 :)

Known problems with the test version:
-It's using mostly Nexus S libraries right now instead of Galaxy S' since it doesn't boot anymore with them, which made the camera and AriesParts (DeviceSettings) force close... I've fixed the camera temporarily but still need to fix it completely
-No updater app for now (Settings - > About Phone - > System Updates FC is normal because of this)
-WeUI Feedback for force closed app not launching

As far as I know it is a Vibrant only issue, and it has been fixed but not completely. It occurs randomly for SOME people, and was fixed for most, but again it is random.
Yes, other ROMS used to have it, and it has been fixed.
I'm not sure if the same fix from CM9 would work for MIUI, but it did for AOKP (roman fixed it after i suggested it to him) but the maintainer for CM9 FaultException Is who you should PM and ask about this.
For the Mute/Unmute issue, go ahead and look at this:
    http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/14215/
It MAY help, it may not, but overall i think you should look at that, if you can get anything out of it, great, if not, PM FaultException and ask him how he used the fix.

911 issue on the other hand was not fixed. On CM9 it works for some it doesn't for others. It's the same as the mute/unmute issue.

Edit: Also my Camera is apparently fixed now, didn't change anything, guess it just had to get settled in.

    Mute/unmute: Who isn't it fixed for? :D

    911:
Removing the proprietary libaudio for Vibrant was supposed to fix issues, and it may have. But now, we have a few people still failing 911. This could be an entirely different problem. I'm not sure if this is due to differences in how our libaudio *should* be coded vs how it *is* coded. We are currently using an almost copy of the Nexus S libaudio, so that fact could be causing us issues. (For example, the mute/unmute bug, if you use a straight copy of the NS libaudio)

I have a tester who can consistently get 911 to fail, he's helping testing my builds. The latest build I sent him has a fallback for 911 that, if it works, will hopefully provide a more solid chance of it working in a dire situation, till we get this fixed, and even after, for builds using our SamsungRIL.
