Ok, I realize that there are a billion posts about this but none have worked. Here is what I did to make it poof away, I flashed a n7100 radio/modem (trying something i knew wouldn't work) thinking that I had a backup so no big deal if it didn't work right. I did this on purpose because of my backup, which apparently does not help radio/modem dismemberment. I still have imei NULL/NULL. I made a backup of my EFS using TWRP/EFS.apk and had no luck when restoring. Here is the info about the note 2 and everything I have tried.

Stock Rom - Baseband unknown - kernel 3.0.31-2085660 - build number jss15j.t889uvucmk7. se android status - enforcing sepf_sgh-t889_4.3_0010

-I have Flashed several stock recovery images/modems/kernels - Phone boots but no imei.
-I have tried to use NV reader writer and that did not work.
-I have flashed modded kernels/modems/roms to no avail.
-I have tried everything I have been reading on the internet, every fix I have read has done nothing.
-I tried every little *# code to help, and nothing worked.
-I tried wiping everything (data, factory reset, cache, everything!)
It seems so simple, am I missing something?? Is there anyway to completely wipe my phone as in rom/kernel/modem, everything to start completely new again? I'm thinking I may be done for. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Did you try flashing the latest UVUMK7 stock ROM from sammobile ?
You can try to recover the IMEI using KIES emergency recovery. http://www.alfredivy.per.sg/blogger/2014/03/efs-folder-imei-corrupted/
You can also try some of the methods listed here. http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2145967

I have tried both, samsung kies does not recognize my phone even with drivers. And the other way does not seem to affect my imei, also I have flashed the latest stock rom. Thank you for the link to the kies instructions I'll have to see if I can get it to connect when I'm home.

Still no luck with kies, just says t889 does not support initializing. ive tried uninstalling and re-installing. Taking firewall down, getting rid of antivirus, trying different pc, and different usb ports. no luck. no one has gone through exactly what i am?

My situation was a little different, I flashed a i317 modem on my 889v in order to get lte ( was a year ago). Rebooted had null imei, basically my repair was with nv reader writer, if I remember correctly I had a blank nv.bin file and entered my imei ( there was some procedure to input the imei) then used the writer. There was another guy back then Darkshadow who went through the same thing with success. Good luck

I just had this issue, download samsung kies and do an emergency restore from the settings. It should restore the IMEI it worked for me. Good luck.

Kies just tells me that it cannot recognize my phone, or it doesn't support initializing:( if you don't mind me asking. Is there anyway you could link me to the rom, kernel, modem you have on you phone to get it to connect, or what exactly you had to do to get it to connect?

if you have unknown or Null IMEI installing a rom wont fix it.

1) click on this link and download the drivers first: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2038555

2) Download and install kies from this URL: http://www.samsung.com/in/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP

3) power down your device, once its off, hold down the volume button down - home button - power button, hold all three at the same time. Should ask you to confirm enter to download mode.

4( Launch kies and do not plugin your device until it says so

5) Once in kies go to the menu and bar and click on "tools" option and choose "Firmware upgrade and initialization

6) Enter your model number, IE SGH-T889

7) Enter serial number, can be found back of the box or under the battery

8),follow the on screen prompts to connect your device and restore it.

9) once its done installing and booted up you should have your signal back.

Good luck hope it works for you.

Thank you for the in detail explaining of how to do this, it was kind of confusing. The only thing I have an issue with doing that is I don't have my box, and my s/n isn't under the bar code. In settings it gives me a serial number but after putting that in, it stays on connecting normally. But I will try again in an hour or so and update you when I try what you said exactly.

No worries, just hit that thanks button. I had this happen to me before and I didnt even know this option was possible. So i had to swap out my device and then just a few days ago a rom went crazy and wiped it out again. I had a backup plan and it failed. Then i came across a similar thread with this procedure and I tried it and it worked like a charm. Glad it worked out, happy flashing :)

When i get to step 6. After inserting SGH-T889, it says "Please check the model name and enter it"

2. @cwm recovery mod i Wiped davlik cache under advanced.
3. @cwm recovery mod i Formated all mounts.
4. @cwm recovery mod i Wiped cache partition.
5. @cwm recovery mod i wiped data/factory reset
6. @odin i activated Nand erase all.
7. Flashed the stock firmware 4.1.1,
After all that everything was back to factory settings except IMEI now turned to 0/00.
8. Used NV Items Reader-_Writer v1.0 to write the imei back to its normal state.
