Someone mentioned the screen tearing issue when using the recent apps button, and I can't confirm one way or the other yet if this has been fixed, as I was also getting that issue in some programs. Need to do more testing.

Also I noticed someone mention it seemed to take the screen longer to come on when you push the power button, and that seems to be the case on mine as well. Hard to say for sure, but it does "feel" like it is taking longer now.

Well update worked for me.

Android version
4.03
GPS Version
V6.9.13
Wi-Fi version
6.1.1.18
Bluetooth version
v9.26
Kernel
2.6.39.4-00001-g034d325
Build number
IML74K.us_epad 9.4.2.13-20120203

Hmmm tried bluetooth. Still lag and sucked.
Can't judge on WIFI and GPS because I modded and working 100% for me.:)

Guess, play around here and see what else.

Well an hour or two after the update, my prime shut off and now it won't turn back on. Not even joking here..it just won't turn on at all. It was working fine earlier, but I let it fall asleep and now it either won't wake up or it can't turn back on.

Wanted to chime in and note that this didn't fix the issue I was most annoyed with, which is the obnoxious diagonal screen flickering on the home screen, usually when pressing the "recent apps" button. Also noticeable in the YouTube app.

No improvements in GPS or WiFi, although I know we've pretty much narrowed this down to hardware. Don't have a Bluetooth device to test that particular issue.

Yup, I'm still getting the screen flicker. Although it seems to happen less often.

did everyone who updated their pad do it through the OTA? Did anyone get it working with the /cache file that the OP uploaded?

ran the OTA update and have a much improved Wifi throughput. Under 50db excellent performance streaming YouTube videos in high definition. Very happy so far.

Has anyone come across a change log by any chance? If so, please feel free to sound off! Thanks. I would like to know what it genuinely does to better our devices... as I have already installed this OTA. Updated fine, with no issues and/or stalls that were unusual.

Sent from one impressive piece of technology.

It seems like whenever the device falls asleep, it can't wake back up and I have to hard reboot it myself. It definitely wasn't doing this before the update.

Sounds like the .13 update might have introduced some kind of wake up lag bug?

I had rooted my Prime on 9.4.2.11 and was using SwitchMe to have multiple logins. I made the mistake of thinking OTA RootKeeper was on the login i was using at the time I updated but it was on the other login. I now cant switch because I lost root on my current login. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Nevermind, got it rooted again using viperMOD PrimeTime v4.1. I just ran it as 9.4.2.11 (option 1) and it did the trick. Got RootKeeper on this login and Im back to normal.

Found the update, installed fine, restored root, working like a champ. WiFi doesn't really seem like it's improved, but it's hard to tell here at work since our WiFi is poopy.

After the update my wifi bars are all grey when waking the prime up (i have the network setting checked to stay connected when sleeping) the only way to get reconnected to wifi is to turn it off and on again. I've also had a random reboot since, never had them before.

Could someone on .11 upload their asusreader.odex and vibe2.odx file to dropbox or some other hosting site?

Titianium backup Epic failed on me.

I have the right .apk's but need the .odex to update to new firmware.

Factory data wipe didn't do any good.

they are in the system/app folder

Thanks!

It's silly to post your location as long as you are in the US you should be able to manually update!

From about tablet menu...
:p it will only auto check like once a day

I have been checking for the update every hour.
I was letting everyone know that just because you are in a certain area, you might have the update yet.

updated fine (North East US) with rooted prime.
Applied OTA and re-applied root via voodoo app. Worked like a charm!

Update - Thanks to a few members who provided detailed information about their setups, application installs and other items we were able to replicate the sleep/battery drain issues affecting several users. We have a new firmware image going through qualification testing now and will present this to Google shortly for approval. At this point, if the firmware passes qualification testing, we should be able to release it early next week or sooner.

Because they don't know yet what it does fix, simples.

They're waiting for the results coming from the beta testers...US

    Really?

    9.4.2.13 US Release Notes -
    1. Fix Random Reboot / Lockup Problem (100% success in regression testing with returned units, hopefully the same in the community)
    2. Enable Google WideVine video rental in the US
    3. General Performance Enhancements - Usability and User Experience improvements
    4. Improved WiFi operation (for most users, still working on the WiFi/BT dropout fix that will not be assisted by the WiFi/GPS firmware updates)

My wifi is completely dead now.
    Won't even turn on.

Before buying this tablet all I ever heard about Asus is their great support for their devices...

    Yeah...
Growing a bit tired of this

Please PM with your setup and prior firmware release. This is the first and only report about dead WiFi out of 22K updates today so it could be something else causing the problem.

    Hi Gary,

Any chance of starting to provide changelogs for your updates? I imagine doing such a thing will greatly increase the quality of feedback you receive and make for quicker diagnosis of issues stemming from an update.

As it stands, it takes the community around a week collectively to notice what's been changed and where, which generates a lot of ill-feeling. Adding this layer of transparency will bring you closer to your user-base.

If any other forum users agree with this sentiment, click the thank button or quote me and add your own thoughts.

They fixed the double % error in the weather widget, not sure if anyone noticed. By Odin's beard that bugged the crap outta me!
