Issues with Samsung Music Controls on Lockscreen (4.2+)
The reason that I am starting this thread is that I had some issues with the music controls on the stock lockscreen on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (Android 4.3, Dr. Ketan's rom).
The issues were as following: when I first got my phone, the lockscreen automatically displayed a music controls- widget for most of my media apps. I really liked that functionality and used it a lot. But after a while, this 'Samsung music controls widget' started behaving unreliably. Some times it would show, some times it would not. After a while, it would show one second after locking and then disappear. In the end, the widget completely disappeared. I tried to manually add music widgets to the lockscreen, but that was not possible. A lot of my media widgets were not compatible with the lockscreen (except Yatse, an XBMC remote), so that did not work.
When I started searching for a solution, I found very little. I DID find something about an app called 8tracks, that seems to interfere with the stock lockscreen music widget, but most people seem as stunned as I was. So, I started experimenting a little. I played a song, and in Titanium Backup I froze one of my music apps. I locked, but still no widget. I froze another, still no dice. But when I froze the 7digital app and locked again, suddenly my lockscreen music widget was back! I am very happy to have found a solution, so I wanted to share! My theory is that certain apps might interfere with the Samsung music controls on the stock lockscreen (I really don't know why, because I am not a developer).
This far I know of these apps apparently interfering with the lockscreen music controls:
I would really like to hear from other people who have problems like these. Please let me know if my method did or did not work for you, and if it did, which app was the cause of your problems (I will add them to this list).
