The space between the letters is bigger, so when you are writing very fast your typing does not provide the neighboring letters. Thats so important for me. Have a look on actual symbian qwerty keyboard. The error rate is low because the tap of the finger will not slip on the neighboring letter. I have tested so many keyboards at market, at this point are all android keyboards bad. You cant write very fast on little displays, on symbian you can. I have tested it, and symbian is a dying system.
Also for each space pressing you get suggestions for punctuation mark. At the end of a sentences you press as usual space then your punctuation mark, and the keyboard close you sentence and make automaticly a space for next sentence, so you do not have to press 2 times shift button (for your punctuation mark and back to normal keyboard layout) and again space.
The typing flow is better.
