Im assuming you have atleast a little experience customizing roms when you messed with your stock rom in the first place.

1. Turn phone off remove battery for one minute (some custom rom with custrom kernel like kuro has undervoltage features which retain charge longer.. well thats my observation)
2. Reinsert battery, boot to recovery (POWER+HOME+VOLUME UP) wait untill galaxy logo appears then release.
3. wipe DATA and CACHE partition. Its the third and fourth option in stock recovery mode.
4. If you have CWM recovery go to advance and wipe dalvik cache also.
4. Reboot

Didn't work?
1.Repeat steps 1 to 3
2. Reflash your custom rom
3.Reboot

Still not working?
1. If you are in stock kernel and did a CWM backup of your stock rom follow this if not go to last resort flash via Odin
2. Boot to recovery go to CWM recovery and restore backup

What still stuck?.....
1. You will need Odin here. go to sir Doky's page for flashable firmware package.
2. Download his firmware from your region, he has it all, also his Odin app.
3. Extract the package( you will get 3 .tar files) and install odin to your Pc. Please tell me you didnt throw away your samsung driver cd, you know the one in the box? install the drivers for your usb if the odin app doesnt have the drivers when you enter download mode.
4. I hope you didnt flash an Uber kernel like merruk kernel in which case you will need a TOTORO pit file (ask around for it) put it in also and click repartition in odin. If not ignore this step.
5. You are now ready to install fresh stock rom.
6. Go to sir Doky's page for instruction
7. If successful you will need to dial *#272*your IMEI# then click your country's sales code(google it)
8. Reboot

Hope this helps you buddy

Hi,my phone is still booting and works but my kernel is very unstable and so the phone hangs frequently(using merruk 2.5 with permanent cwm).i have a cwm backup of my previous rom but when i try to restore it bricks my phone.i get an error in flashing the boot.img.And when i reboot recovery i see the stock recovery and it gives an error in mounting cache and when i boot temporary.cwm from it that also gives the same error and so no rom or kernel can be installed. When i try restoring the backup again it says unable to mount cache/last log

What can i do to return to the stock kernel?

Your solutuin is simple mate.. flash a stock firmware update of your region through odin.. then install custom rom from cwm which will be in working condition by then..

hit thanks button! If above post helps you..

galaxy y bricked

i bricked my sgy last 3 weeks.

here's what i did.
-installed creedsix rom.
-installed UOT kitchen Themes.
-wipe data

problem
-stuck in bootlogo
-softbricked.
-cant go to recovery mode
-flashed too many times, still stuck in bootloop

i flashed at least 20 times, with different firmwares.
but still no luck, still boot lop.

my professor said something about secondary bootloader that might help. but i had definitely no idea what it is.

i asked some techies on the mall, and they said that this phone must undergo the JTAG process. but it cost $20.

help me. thanks.

Galaxy y bricked during Merruk kernel installation! please help...

hey guys,

please help as i have bricked my phone during Merruk kernel Installation. And now only Samsung boot screen(with model no.) is coming and nothing else it dont go after that...
I cant go into download mode, only recovery mode is coming.

Now i will tell u how did i bricked my phone..
1. Flashed my phone with Jellyblastv3 -- which happened perfectly...
2. updated to v3.0.2 -- again happened perfectly...
3. Then i was trying to put Merruk technology kernel 2.5 using this guide -- http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1679563
4. But i did one thing wrong i.e "i installed ext4.zip file first"
5. And now nothing is coming except samsung bootscreen, its going into recovery mode but cant do nothing from that as it always says -- "E:failed to mount /cache (invalid argument).

SO please help...
:confused::confused:

@jaswind3r.. so i think its not bricked.. all you need to do is this.. the steps which ou didnt do.. do that.. and you will see yur phone fine..

That is.. you need to install merruk kernel from odin now.. are you sure your odin mode not appearing? or is it recovery mode that is not appearing??

voloume up mode or volume down mode is working??

If odin mode is not worikng. then try flashing merruk kernel from cwm.. i.e if you have .zip file of that kernel.. if not, then you can flash stock firmware of your region from doky73's thread via odin to get stock back..

i think this is what is happening currently.. your phone is converted to ext4 format which your stock kernel cant handle.. so the bootloop..

Thank u bro for replying quick...
brother i tried installing merruk kernel from the start but odin is not detecting now. Earlier it was before flashing kernel...

volume up & down, home button and power button are working fine. No problem with that///

Again, odin is not even detecting my phone, so cant format. i have also download the proper stock rom from doky73's thread.

yes, i also think so that my phone is converted to ext4 format as i tried reinstalling jellyblasy from stratch, also tried restoring from backup mode in CWM and "E;failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)...

And now i am going to try bootloop...

Will further reply then...

Thank u soo much...

you are able to see odin mode in phone?? that warning screen?? and bin counter all that?? if yes and only in PC odin cant detext.. then reinstall kies.. or see troubleshoot connection problem option in kies.. written in center of screen in it.. then try rebooting both phone and pc... then get back to odin mode by using voulme down+power button+home button combo..

This Thread Is For Them Who Bricked There Phones

Don't start a new thread for your bricked phone & post here.

We will help you with every possible solutions.

Here are some quick tips :
(Here I'll use the terms like Download-Mode & Recovery-Mode, If you dont know what are they please click here. There "BOOT to RECOVERY" & "BOOT to BOOTLOADER" means how to enter into Recovery-Mode & Download-Mode respectively.)

A Bricked Phone May Have One or More (Below Problems) :

    1. Booting to the ROM(Android) not possible.
    2. Booting to the Recovery-Mode not possible.
    3. Black screen or Bootloop(Repeated Restarting of Phone at Boot Animation or Samsung Galaxy Y Logo).

    Possible Solutions :
(Remember there'll be data loss using these solutions so always try to keep a backup)

    1. If you can still enter into Recovery-Mode
(a). Try to clear Data & Cache then check.
(b). Try Installing a Custom ROM using CWM(ClockWorkMod Recovery) & check.
(For Custom ROM & CWM Visit here.)

    2. If Recovery-Mode didn't helped Enter into Download-Mode & flash an odin supported stock rom(using ODIN 1.84 or 1.85) from Doky73's Thread(Flashing Guide in 2nd post).

*You can inform me, if anything left out.

    Note :
    1. I'll be not held responsible for anything that happens to your phone.
    2. Before posting try to search for similar type problems out there & try the solution, if that doesn't solve your problem then post here.

whatever It may be... You should never mess up with bootloaders, if you don't actually know what's there significance...

Brief description on android starting process :

pbl(primary boot loader "boot.bin") executes first and then it executes sbl ...
Sbl(secondary boot loader "sbl.bin") is responsible for responding to combos...download mode.. Intercepting odin commands..... booting system...booting kernel.... Charging your battery while switch off... Etc etc

Harm anyone of them... And Your phone goes into lifetime hibernation, Hard-bricked.

and just flash your country's firmware
