CF-Root v3.2 for JVH has been released.
No significant code changes compared to JVB version, just different base kernel, and a few minor script changes here and there.
Please note I have not been able to test it very extensively. CWM appears to be fully functional, backup/restore works, ext4 works, root works, etc. Looks fine to me so far, but feel free to post about JVH specific issues.
Also, making a backup on JVB using CWM, then flashing JVH, flashing CF-Root, going into CWM, doing advanced restore, and only restoring data seems to work without issue too. Nice trick to not lose any data/apps.
Ext4 Tools has received a minor bugfix regarding /dbdata and /data FS type display (rfs or ext4) that were sometimes switched around.
Enjoy, and don't forget to use the "Thanks" button and/or donate!
Thanks for the Update! I have noticed that Wifi was having issues with CF Root 3.1 when installed on JVH. You have mentioned that there are no code changes, but I guess the Wifi driver is different.
That _I_ have made almost no code changes does not mean _Samsung_ hasn't, and my work is based on the Samsung stock kernel, so ...
Also it is a known issue that if you have flashed "true" custom kernels compiled from source, this may break Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when going back to an official kernel.
That being said, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have always been slightly problematic on each and every Samsung firmware and device I have ever used Once every X times, they simply won't turn on or work properly... usually a reboot or turning them off and on a couple of more times fixes the problem, though.
Attached is a fix for iptables (Droidwall issue) on JVK. (only for CF-Root kernels!)
Install through "Flash update" in CWM Manager, or "install zip from sdcard" in CWM3.
