Sprayed my slim case.. Waiting for it to dry now

this sounds like such an awesome idea!

i'm not very good with stuff like this....do you guys mind writing a step-by-step guide for this or maybe do a quick video, that would be great!!!!

thanks.

I mean honestly it all depends.. The way i sprayed this was mask off what i didn't want paint on...cleaned the surface I was going to paint.. Scuffed up the sides with scotch Brite.. And just used even light coats... Let dry.. Light coats..Let dry.. Until I get the look I want . The key it to be patient and take your time

Lookin tuff. I guess we both had same idea. I sprayed yesterday too about half dozen times all day. Whenever I walked by it basically. Also found new awesome camera app in process (camera FV-5) its got same layout as canon. Very nice. Might buy it for when 4.2 camera fc's on me. Anyway, yea like Miquel says just mask what you don't want sprayed. Practice on scrap wood or cardboard 1st until your comfortable. Also light coats. If you mess up let dry and sand and restart. If to heavy it will be harder to fix. I'll try and make vid when I spray my white case.
This clear d
Grip spray from rustoleum is nice. Its still smooth but still grippy like textured skin. Its best so far. I mean truck bed linear spray is good too and black but it sprays THICK but levels decent. Its definitely harder to spray. I sprayed right over my already sprayed case.

Also here is a tip. Bring something you don't mind trashing to pep boys, auto zone, HD.. spray test in store and walk around for bit and let dry and that will tell you before you buy. I own my own handyman construction biz so I buy whatever. I'm probably gonna spray my HVAC grills in house bed linear black to match color I just painted so its whatever to me but I'll try and post pics or vids this week.

Are you referring to Rustoleum "texture" spray as there is not a "grip" spray available on the Rustoleum web page. Also, does this peel off as the first spray recommended on this thread did? Thanks!

First spray does rub off. I posted pics of sprays which can all be had at home depot or any auto parts store

Okay, I also sprayed with the Pep Boys Truck Bed Liner Spray....it worked great and looks professional!...however, I personally had a problem as after a day there was a strong chemical smell when I held the phone to my face, and it literally made me nauseous....so I ordered a few more cases to try that were also very slim like the Elago, and I found one of them to be excellent (and just as slim as the Elago when you use without the included belt clip).. and, it has a lip on the front in case the phone is dropped on the screen. This one has grooves on the back, and on the sides, so it isn't slippery like the Elago and many of the other cases! I thought I'd share this as I am extremely happy with this case. Here is the ebay link as I bought it on ebay. Thanks again for all the input by everyone on this thread!

I bought the elago case off amazon for $10. Great slim fit case except no grip.
So I went to Home depot and bought a can of black tool handle grip spray. Taped case, scuffed where I wanted spray to stick with scotch brite pad and sprayed.
Now slim and grippy but not thick. It still slides in and out of pocket with ease.
Spray with thin coats every 30 mins untill desired amount. If you spray to heavy let dry and rub off with hand or scrapper. I speed dried with heat gun. Screwed up and to thick 1st time but perfect the 2nd.
Anyway thought I'd share with anybody looking for slim with grip case make you own.
Fyi, I only found black but they make yellow, blue and white I think..

very nice pictures.....I sprayed with the first spray from Home Depot which looked and felt great but it started peeling off the first day. I would like to try the Pep Boys spray...do you have a specific name and is it also relatively inexpensive? thanks!

Here's pic of pep boys or auto zone can, I think around $10 or less and next set is new can of what I saw today at home depot for $7 and its clear. I'm gonna shoot it on my white slim case.
