I just saw Tim from Tim and Eric.. My big brother introduced him to me at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival here in Portland. He's a huge ****. It made me like him even more.

2 questions..

1. I keep getting a SD full message...and when I check available memory it tells me is very limited when I'm sure I should have 6gb or more..

2.every time I attempt to do a nandroid backup prior to updating rom it keeps failing when it gets to data...

Any ideas?

Must have been some bit error in download. Re-downloaded your build 34, wiped cache, reflashed, and now it's onto the Android upgrading screen.. Thanks for this update.

btw.. inspite of the bad flash, the new kernel had got installed properly.. So I reflashed using NEAK that got installed the first time. I don't know how many find this a bliss.. but it was a really nice surprise that finally I was able to mount int/ext SD from NEAK's CWM. The last time I was able to do that was on Entropy's DD on GB.

Nah, mine's doing the same thing and I made sure to grab the re-worked Build 34. Did a FULL WIPE and used Jivy's kernel cleaning script but I believe it's the NEAK kernel. I may have to revert to the CM9 kernel which is a shame since the NEAK kernel is quite nice and it also shows my microSDHC as the external <-- this didn't happen in any of the previous builds in CWM.

I noticed that NEAK might give me problems when it refused to reboot properly the first time after flashing everything. It just stuck in CWM with the screen slightly dimmed and the text had a vertically wavy motion...Had to hold down the power button for 10-12 seconds to reboot --> got sent back to CWM and clicked on 'Reboot now' and it rebooted fine.

Plugged into PC just now and phone froze so I'm saying it's NEAK. When I was on GB, my phone never did like Siyah (even w/o UV'ing or OC'ing). Always stuck with Entropy's DD.

May have to revert back to CM9 stock kernel as it's always been buttery smooth for me with great battery life but I do want to give NEAK a try.

If I have a couple more issues, I'll have to revert the kernel. :(

Task if you don't mind me asking, why did you decide to pack aokp with neak? I can never really tell performance differences between kernels, so I can't say that NEAK is any faster performance wise than siyah, however it doesn't seem to be any slower. I'm more interested in how battery life is. I'm running ondemand governor instead of lulz, eventhough i ran lulzactive on siyah with awesome performance/battery life. So well see...my phone will be at 100% in a little less than an hour so ill wait till its full and give it a proper idle overnight. Although Im not expecting the best results seeing as I still need to let it settle.

I chose neak kernel because I got really good results from it. Really good battery life, really stable, and just want to try something new. Also, I like the there is no OC. :D

I too am having issues with the NEAK kernal. :( Random freezes, lockups. often when plugging into charger or PC.

Some phones are picky, didnt think mine was, guess I was wrong.
Easy fix, just putting the info out. Seems quite a few have issues.

Has the hold back to kill app option been removed from recent builds can't find the setting anymore???

Edit: oops just read its been removed from rom control anyone know a method to enable manually? It seems the feature is still there.

It has. you can shove an older version of rom control into /system/app to get it back

Bluetooth Problems

Having trouble with the switching of Bluetooth sources on Scala Rider G4 motorcycle headsets. I know this is a non issue for 99.999%. Just thought I would bring it up. When an intercom call is initiated and my phone is active playing music it will lock both mine and the other riders G4. Getting ready for a motorcycle trip so we did some troubleshooting. There are three of us, two SGS2's running latest AOKP, one iPhone 4. I returned to a GB backup and problem is gone for me and iphone. I assume it has something to do with the bluetooth stack. I also assume I cant run GB bluetooth stacks on ICS.

Do I have any options other than dual booting a GB ROM for the trip?

Lock screen delay

So I have a question for the group. It used to be on CM7 that you could configure the lock screen such that the "slide to unlock" part always showed up. Then, if you had a security code set, you could have that show up at a set time after timeout or using the power button to turn the screen off.

I have the "Show lockscreen before unlock" option checked under ROM Control->Lockscreen options, because I always want to have the slide to unlock screen available.

So far I've found (using the 4-21 build) that when you set a security code, you only have one option: "Automatically lock after:" And whatever you select is the time-to-lock setting. So if I set it to 5 minutes, then the screen turns off, 5 minutes later I com back and I get the slide to unlock, and then put in my PIN, and I'm in like Flint. Problem is, if I don't wait 5 minutes, then the screen comes right on, no slide to unlock, giving me lots of problems when my phone is in my pocket or armband while working out.

If I set the "time to lock" to immediately, then I will always get a slide to unlock screen. But then I also always have to put in my PIN, which is a pain in the ass if I am using my phone often.

So basically, I want to know, is there a way to have "slide to unock" always show, but the security unlock only show up after a timeout period, say 5 or 10 minutes? Or am I SOL on this?

I may be wrong, but I thought I read in the siyah thread that you could not dual boot a gb ROM and an ICS Rom at the same time because the partitions were different. someone please correct me if that's not right.

I'm pretty sure the reason you can't dual boot a gb rom is because it requires a different version of siyah kernel.

Pretty sure your option is not really an option. You can't dual boot GB and ICS roms since they use different kernels. Sorry I can't help more, but I just wanted to put that out there.

I think you are correct. I know I remember reading something to that affect. O well, maybe CM9 will release some new stacks before the ride.

    5. Added option to flash a custom kernel while flashing ROM (put your custom kernels in the /sdcard/aokp.ota/kernel directory and select from settings menu)
    6. Added option to flash a GAPPS while flashing ROM (gapps zip must be named "gapps.zip" and put in /sdcard/aokp.ota/ directory)
    7. Added option to flash ROMs already downloaded (it looks for .zip file in the /sdcard/aokp.ota directory)

    Great auto brighness settings (custom backlight settings):
    ***** Make sure your Exynos Sensor is set to "Open Source" in xxTweaker General section *****
    *****WARNING: If you apply the setting before adding ALL the values, you'll have to do a full wipe. *****

    To set the minimum value to something lower than 20, set the "Screen Dim Level" to the lowest value that you want. I would not go below 12 though!

    If you experience a slow response from the screen turning on when recieving a call do:
    1. Open Phone Dialer
    2. Press menu key and click Settings
    3. Click Ring Delay
    4. Click Ring Delay Off
    5. Done
