@Restl3ss - just a hunch, if it's the same hang up i had at the beginning. apt-get install yasm

@ketut.kumajaya the only dlopen message is this:
W/InterfaceController( 1878): Warning (dlopen failed: library "/system/lib/libnetcmdiface.so" not found) while opening the net interface command library

@Angel_666 - did you run into the stpcpy error with busybox when building ? if so how did you resolve it?

my build [current with 4.4 kernel] gets to bootanimation and hangs. here is logcat. and logcat with only E/ messages.

For the busybox, use those fixes:

http://review.cyanogenmod.org/70770
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/70789

I have uploaded them for review. Maybe they will het merged with official code.

hazou,

thanks, i was getting stressed out, while my sloppy fix seemed to be working for the 4.2 [modified] kernel, i think it might be the reason
my /data doesn't seem to create right with the 4.4 kernel [new]
will get a new build going !

@Hazou running mka recoveryimage now, will update

---------- Post added at 01:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:41 PM ----------

@ketut.kumajaya Found a little problem in new kitkat 4.4.4 CM image: i can't read kernel messages (dmesg) coz "klogctl: operation not permitted". I check CONFIG_SECURITY_DMESG_RESTRICT in kernel config, but it's disabled as it must be. Where else can i turn off this protection? And another thing: android shell don't have superuser priveleges even if we type "SU". Any help?

I'm not sure how helpful this is but i was only able to get root permissions for logcat etc after swapping the init binary from the old 4.2 [modified]
kernel/boot.img to replace the one from the new 4.4 kernel/boot.img so my guess is selinux maybe? [policy, file contexts, and some weirdness with the updater script].

@moonbutt74
Ignore the dlopen failed: library "/system/lib/libnetcmdiface.so" not found error for now, please try "echo 2 > /data/.layout_version" and reboot.

EDIT: I need "ps" and "lsmod" output.

@moonbutt74
Ignore the dlopen failed: library "/system/lib/libnetcmdiface.so" not found error for now, please try "echo 2 > /data/.layout_version" and reboot.

EDIT: I need "ps" and "lsmod" output.

/system/bin/sh: can't create /data/.layout_version: Permission denied

can this be done in recovery and what exactly am i doing? creating a file or just reading what's there ?

i think our problem is the same. Try to create file in any dir and permissions will be denied. Coz shell can't work as root i think.

Why /system/vendor/bin/pvrsrvctl service from init.common.rc not started? Please try start it manually using "start pvrsrvctl" or directly using "/system/vendor/bin/pvrsrvctl --no-module --start" command.

Make sure /data included in ramdisk, check why /data partition not mounted.

Boot animation cycling. HWcomposer error was present in 4.2.2 CM too, but it's works anyway.

angel,

your previous build of cm11 booted through with sgx and the 4.2 kernel with selinux enabled.
same with mine.
i say it's in the 4.4 kernel source /drivers/staging/intel_media/bld/clovertrail/
i have a build running right now and after thats done, i'm taking a chainsaw to the kernel source . :silly:
should be fun. :good:

@Restl3ss - just a hunch, if it's the same hang up i had at the beginning. apt-get install yasm

@ketut.kumajaya the only dlopen message is this:
W/InterfaceController( 1878): Warning (dlopen failed: library "/system/lib/libnetcmdiface.so" not found) while opening the net interface command library

@Angel_666 - did you run into the stpcpy error with busybox when building ? if so how did you resolve it?

my build [current with 4.4 kernel] gets to bootanimation and hangs. here is logcat. and logcat with only E/ messages.

m

Nope, yasm didn't do it.

My source is pretty dirty right now so i'm thinking i'm gonna clear it all and resync.

on the service you mentioned, you said it was already initialized, did you try killing it and restarting?

that never occured to me,.... :silly: duh, okay let me try that.
i know i hit that error somewhere, i'll walk backwards and try to find it.
running a build, listening to thunder.

m

it's header file, but theres a procedure to mod/patch it involving locating the pre-generated header then finding it's actual location changing the reference then running a python script to update the change jn the build system.

are you doing integrated kernel build? if so, don't for now. if you hit it again after resync then post a larger chunk
of the log, no rule to make is probably something missing in/from an android.mk
my wifi keeps cutting out with storm, so i'll be out for a bit.

okay so

hwc - hardware composer i believe is the issue [i believe alot of things, don't make 'em true ! :silly: ]

E/hwcomposer( 1890): int hwc_eventControl(hwc_composer_device_1*, int, int, int): unsupported event 1
I/ServiceManager( 1890): Waiting for service display.intel.mds...
mds = multidisplay

this happened when i began adding to harware_intel specifically hardware/intel/clovertrail/hwc/
i believe hwc_composer_device relates to - IntelHWComposer.cpp - maybe.
will try to trim out the hwc portion but if i am looking at it right the rest has to stay for audio [latin for to hear]
bluetooth [latin for why does my audio keep cutting out :p ] and wifi.

will hold off on the chainsaw for now but, must build again which takes about 7 hours....YAY !!!!

Mds service is not critical error. As for hwc - use prebuilded version, cos in Intel sources hwc is completly broken and need to fix. Problem is that mediaserver dying - we need to check why.

Y, always use prebuilt verions when trying a new android version, especially when they are ready for use. When it all works, try the source code if u want to change somethings.

For the mediaserver. I had the exact same problem in cm10.1 and it all came down to sound. in my case just remove the prebuilt sound files and use general audio. U won't have any audio, but it will boot i hope.

Uploaded cm-12.1-20150421-UNOFFICIAL-p5210.zip (sources are updated on github as usual)

    New in this version:
    - Audio! (basic for now, no bluetooth audio support)

    Happy flashing ;)

The vast majority of us seem to want CM11, myself included. So, If you're decently capable, let me know! I fully understand @Angel_666 's frustration, namely why he's waiting to see tw kitkat - being a lone dev probably sucks, and trying to make a 4.4 port based on 4.2.2 x86 things with incomplete sources is insanely difficult. Let's change that. Stop being a part of the "gimme gimme" crowd, come do something about it!

    For to-be Developers:
You're expected to have at least a basic understanding of Linux (command line). If you don't possess such an understanding, you're in way over your head, as even the advanced experience a kryptonite effect with the intel clovertrail platform. Basic understanding doesn't necessarily mean you need to know every single piece of a kernel. Just know your basic commands (such as cd, mkdir, etc). There are people, including myself, willing to teach you how to compile from source as long as you have this foundation. NOTE; If you only meet the VERY basic criteria, you will be required to do a cm11 build before being added to this list. Meaning, have someone walk you through it, or follow this guide for D2LTE. (you can replace d2lte with a device you have) If you get a feel for it, welcome to the team.
the exception to this rule is if you have valuable experience which, though might not be android perse, is definitely wanted.

    For Testers:
If you want to be a tester, you're expected to be at least what's known as a "power user". Meaning, don't just say "bla bla bla is broken". Logs logs logs! Help debug!

    For ALL:
Know how to use Google. Actually try to find what you need before asking about it, otherwise we clog things up with unnecessary questions/answers.

Now that the guidelines are down, some words of encouragement!
If we can just get our foot in the door, we can blow it wide open and pave the road for other roms (such as omni, aokp, beanstalk) which will be SIGNIFICANTLY easier to port with a solid foundation.

    Comment if you're interested.

    TWRP 2.8.6.0

TWRP 2.8.6.0 for P5200 and P5210 is now available (all compiled from source :) but we need to add a kernel module by hand so it's not fully automatic for now).
I checked the kernel and the most serious EMMC Bugs fixes are applied (Samsung eMMC secure erase bug and MAG2GA TRIM bug) so there should be no problem. However I'm not responsible of what can happen to your device...

I think all functionalities are here (including MTP, Mass storage, battery, CPU temp, brightness). For the fearless testers, the files are here. You will find .img to flash with heimdall, .tar to flash with odin and .zip to flash with cwm/twrp (choose the one you prefer).

    - Multiuser enabled (thanks @bbr999)
    - IR blaster fixed (thanks @KingUsman)
    - Long press on home set to recent apps by default
    - opensource sensors hal (still needs 2 binary blobs)
    - Some cleanup (and maybe more bugs...)

Can you tell me if it works correctly for you ? If everything is ok I'll create a thread in the developers section ;)

I did notice that all others are quick to backport. Just small modifications are needed. But the hwcomposer, oh god... That will take ages to backport. I am hoping for some sources from motorola to speed that up.

Finally, i boot this devil! The new CM launcher is BEAUTIFUL!
