This is just simply an amazing bit of script you've written and made available. I've formatted cahce/system/data, run that nexus full wipe script, installed LeeDroid 5.0.0 from fresh and it's remembered my rosie, home screen widgets, wifi etc etc superb.

I think minimal text widget run some strange script because those don't seem to be remembered, I can live with that compared to everything else that is.

Thanks again Patrick

Question is did you restore your apps using titanium backup? I can be wrong now but I think it was included in Google Maps. Check /data/app...

I'm pretty sure AOSP lockscreen is in APEX launcher. Otherwise you would have android stock lockscreen. Check if there is any app to disable lock screen. I can't check all these things myself because I don't use NO-Sense version ;)

BTW if anyone has any opinions about the NO-Sense version just let me know... Remove more or less as default etc. :)

Sent from my HTC One X

Hi Patrics83,

I did a TB restore for only two apps; Stardom A-List (game) & Root Explorer 2.19. I wasn't able to find anything related in the data/app folder.

Also, as for the lockscreen I'm not sure if it's actually an ICS stock lockscreen or the AOSP Apex lockscreen.
I've used SwitchPro widget for sometime, especially on my SGS2, which worked well but on the HOX, it only persist for a while until the screen goes idle for 5 mins - i then get the lockscreen reactivated.
I've attached some URLs of my lockscreen, so perhaps you could tell me which one is it.
Either way, I don't want any lockscreens, so is it possible to remove the stock ICS one as well?

Your welcome mate!
It saves you some serious time after full wipe thats for sure :D

But "nexus full wipe script" on a One X :eek: that is not a good idea IMO ;)

Some widgets needs additional data as well, but almost everything is restored that's nice! ;)

Hmm I know I have seen an app called traffic on my device as well but that was long time ago and I can't remember what it was. :D

Try to deactivate the lockscreen in regular settings app under security.

You can try and install trebuchet launcher and then uninstall APEX and see if the lockscreen changed. Just an idea.

I will have some more time at Sunday and maybe I can find something...

Hi, I just download the backup tool..!!

I put it on the /SD folder and installed or flash via CW Recovery.. It says wifi, email, app are backed up.. OK

Now, I did a super wipe, then installed the ARHD 5.1.0, then installed the ROM cleaner and reboot.

How or when the backup tool work? Because from the setup wizzard, I have to type my wifi password again and doing all the setup and installing all the apps

You need to flash settings_restorer.zip ;)

Are you 100% sure that your apps wasn't installed when you booted for the first time?

Everything else but the apps can be restored before first boot...

Other backups needs to be installed with settings restorer at second boot.

Please provide logs if the apps wasn't installed at first boot.

Logs can be found in /sdcard/ROMCleaner/Logs

Yes, remove # makes the text readable for the script.

Add a # and the script won't be able to read the text behind the hash.

This is also explained in the guide.

#ESFileExplorer.apk < ROM Cleaner will not remove this app

ESFileExplorer.apk < ROM Cleaner will remove this app.

:D

Most important step is to copy this txt file to your sdcard (/sdcard/ROMCleaner)

Hello Patrics mate,

I was having a look through manage applications and i found these;

uploadfromtaptalk1336199326991.jpg

Is it to do with the way ROM Cleaner removes them?

Its not at all a problem but was just curious ;)

Hey, is it possible that you removed those apps manually and now you have old data for them..

Firstly thanks for your excellent script.. I personally find the NO-SENSE Edition v1.0 perfect although a little too aggressive (We really do need the calendar) for my needs.. I have found one slight bug that I am looking for help on..

HTC must have an internal DB of locations, somehow the NO-SENSE Edition v1.0 is deleting that internal DB of locations, so when you click on the clock it crashes.. I found if you boot up Mikes Android Revolution rom first, setup your location then run NO-SENSE Edition v1.0 script you can get the clock working however none of the cities are in the internal DB which is a work around but not perfect..

Hoping someone finds a better solution than this..

    Guide & Info

    Guide For ROM Cleaner and Additional Tools!

    We did make an effort to make it as clear as possible on each AROMA screen. However it's always nice to know what the scripts do and when to use them...

    So let's start!

    Main Menu

    In our main menu you will find:

    * Backup Tool
    * ROM Cleaner
    --- ROM Cleaner (Sense)
    --- ROM Cleaner (NO-Sense)
    --- Skip cleaning step
    * Additional Scripts
    --- Settings Restorer
    --- Setup Wizard Remover
    --- Apps & Mods Installer
    --- Run all scripts in one GO!
    * Logs collection
    * Advanced Power Menu

    Backup Tool

    Will backup:

    -*- Applications (Not app data)
    -*- Accounts (Settings - Accounts)
    -*- Bluetooth pairings
    -*- HTC Sense launcher settings (and 3rd party widgets)
    -*- HTC Mail accounts (including Inbox)
    -*- WiFi keys

    Important Note: Use this before flashing a new ROM flash with full wipe

    How to apply:

    --- Open ROM Cleaner AROMA and press "Backup Tool"
    --- When done, press "Power Menu" and "Exit" .... or whatever you want...

    ROM Cleaner

    Flashing procedure for pure ROM Cleaner users!

    -*- Flash a ROM with full wipe
    -*- Start ROM Cleaner AROMA and pick "ROM Cleaner"
    -*- Pick "Sense" or "NO-Sense" script, press Next
    -*- "NO-Sense" users will get a launcher menu and the option to use HTC lockscreen or AOSP lockscreen
    -*- Next menu is optional (should be pretty clear)
    -*- Press Next again and wait until ROM Cleaner is done
    -*- Press Reboot and use your phone like normal

    Skip cleaning step

    If you use this option, nothing will be removed and you will still be able to restore your apps.

    Additional Scripts

    Important Note: Use this menu only after a full boot!

    * Settings Restorer > This script will restore data already saved with Backup Tool
    * HTC Setup Wizard Remover > This script will remove the HTC Setup Wizard. IT's pointless to have once your phone is set up
    * Apps & Mods Installer > This is a batch install script. Apps, mods, files in /sdcard/ROMCleaner/SecondBoot will be installed when you use this script
    * Run All scripts in one GO! > This is a batch install for all scripts in this menu

    Logs Collection

    Use this option when we request logs from you.

    This script will collect all needed logs + "*user.txt" and create "RC_LogCollector.tar" in ROMCleaner folder. Upload this file and send it to us on XDA or IRC.

    Advanced Power Menu

    In this menu you will find the following options:

    * Reboot your device
    * Exit to Recovery
    * Reboot to Bootloader
    * Enable Mobile Network

    How To Edit Your Personal User.txt

    Steps you need to do:

    --- Windows users, download Notepad++ and install it.
    --- Download "ROMCleaner_user.txt" or "NO-Sense_user.txt" from the firstpost
    --- Open the text file with Notepad++

    In the text file you will find two columns with app names and a description in this guide we use AdobeReader.apk as an example.

    To Remove a file with ROMCleaner

    Code:
    AdobeReader.apk         Adobe Reader PDF reader

    In the case above "AdobeReader.apk" will be removed.

    To keep a file with ROMCleaner If you decide to keep it, add a "#" at the beginning of the line:
    Code:
    [COLOR=Red]#[/COLOR]AdobeReader.apk         Adobe Reader PDF reader

    Let's say we are done with the edits. To continue just complete next list:

    --- Press the "X" in the upper right corner of the screen to save the changes.
    --- Copy the file onto your sdcard. The file must be located in "/sdcard/ROMCleaner" folder.

    Now ROM Cleaner script will always read that file!

    Easy?
    Yes? Good because this is and should be easy ;)

        *ROM Cleaner (Sense/NO-Sense/CM-AOSP) will now read from the ROMCleaner.log
         and based on the result, print a status message in recovery
         This method will be much more accurate and there's no more need
         to have the "test" line in your *_user.txt as before
        *If you have removed Setup Wizard and then perform a ROM update without wipe,
         ROM Cleaner will remove the Setup Wizard. This just to prevent black screen after dirty flash.
        *Added more logging code:
         List all apps in /system and /data before and after ROM Cleaner

       -[B]Backup Tool[/B]
        *Added "exit to recovery" option after "Backup Tool"
        *Removed some unnecessary files from Rosie backup script
        *Added more logging code:
         List all apps in /data/app before backup and after backup in backup dir

       -[B]Additional Scripts[/B]
        *Added "reboot device" option after "Run all scripts in one GO!"

       -[B]ROM Cleaner (Sense)[/B]
        *Minor changes

       -[B]ROM Cleaner (NO-Sense)[/B]
        *Changed the lockscreen options menu. If you pick HTC Lockscreen,
         HTC Lockscreen Shorcut Provider by itandy will be installed directly.
         If you pick AOSP lockscreen and then want to restore HTC Lockscreen again,
         the app will be uninstalled.
         Also the Lockscreen menu will always be available even if you have set AOSP LS.
