Thanks for all the input. I wanted to get a good idea on what amount to donate and got that and more from this discussion.

    Cool, thanks for your answers everyone :) I'm really in awe at the smarts of the developers on here. I think it would be awesome to have an XDA convention where we could all hang out and talk about phones! ... Unless something like that exists already and I'm just way slow!

    You hit the nail right on the head. Even just popping in and saying good work or whatever, means a lot after a hard day of banging away at this stuff. You're appreciation in any form, is greatly appreciated.
