This is the new update (post ICS) which adds Global Phone capabilities to the Rezound posted by MicroMod777 Sunday night.

I have deodexed it, rooted it, added busybox, and packaged it up.

You MUST be on the ICS OTA firmware before applying this one.

It will not work without the firmware update that goes with it.

And while this is an update, you need to wipe everything before installing it.

To install:

1. Put both files on the SDCard.
2. Rename the firmware to PH98IMG.zip
3. Reboot to recovery.
4. Backup.
5. Wipe.
6. Install the ROM. Do not reboot from recovery.
7. From a command prompt issue "adb reboot bootloader"
8. Tap Power to go to HBOOT and load the firmware.
9. Tap Vol Up to start.
10 Tap Power to reboot.
11. Profit!

Confused on #7. I use a mac, and not fluent in adb commands in terminal on a mac. Is this a step from a computer, or can the prompt be done in Recovery?

Any thoughts on whether it will be possible to flash pre-OTA ROMs over the new firmware? (I did see on another thread someone encountering the mainver issue again, so I suppose we'll have to reset mainver if we do that).

I am S-Off, I cannot speak for S-On, nobody should still be S-On.

I can tell you that I did restore my ICS OTA backup and it's running fine.

It appears you are S-off, so mainver won't be an issue for you. :)

I am running Cubed 1.0.2 on the new firmware right now without any issue. I flashed the firmware last night just to check it out. And was waiting for someone like dsb to get this to use to play with :)

First of all a big thanks for this, it was time.

Still that anoying warning in the lockscreeen, it would be great if there was a way of removing it.

Great job.

What annoying warning? This is an HTC update, not a home made one. There shouldn't be anything hokey with it.

If you switch to some other mode, it probably wants the right kind of SIM for that mode. Assuming that's what you mean.

DSB can we just flash the firmware and then restore our ROM? I am on ViperRez, just want to make sure if I have to install the ROM along with the Firmware or if I can just update the Firmware by itself.

Thanks,

Far as I know. I'm running the new firmware with the ICS OTA ROM I made.

I won't move to this till I theme it.

This is awesome, great news. Now us global users can finally have a stable 3.6 build as a base!

One question though, I'm on the old gingerbread firmware so to flash this I should flash both files through hboot, correct? The 500 MB one first then the 33 MB, right?

I just want to say this one more time.

Making this work requires BOTH parts. Not just the firmware, or just the ROM.

I posted this mostly so those people who had hacked together GSM support could properly update their ROMs and have working world phones.
