Please forgive me if this is not the right place to ask but since it's specific to 9.1...
Does anyone have a good kernel profile that balances performance with battery? The ktoonz profile is draining my battery very fast. Default seems better but wondering of any other options.

Have you tried charging your phone, wiping battery stats and starting fresh? You can also use the Greenify & Wakelock Detector apps or try a different kernel.
How do you know it's the kernel that's draining the battery? The reason I ask is because if you have a corporate exchange account setup and for whatever reason exchange can't communicate with the server it would drain your battery in four hours, that I believe is a bug in the google exchange services.
Ugh, had another episode of the screen not turning on from sleep. Time to upgrade the kernel I'd say.

GPS will suck battery life fast. I suggest using the quick toggle to turn GPS on and off as needed.

One way to find out for sure if it's the kernel setting is to turn off both mobile data, under data usage, and wifi for about 8 hours and check your battery at the end of that period.

Yes, V9 has the same issue, but this is not a bug it is part of the architecture of the rom by design.

You can flash it as normal but you will need to update your modem to keep data from dropping when you enter sleep mode. There are threads here that will instruct you on the modem upgrade process.

Ugh, had another episode of the screen not turning on from sleep. Time to upgrade the kernel I'd say.
Had another moment where the screen wouldn't turn on and had to hold the power button to shut it down. Happens on both 11-14 and 12-12 ktkernel.
GPS only sucks battery when it is being actively used. Leaving the GPS toggle on does not use any battery. You can, however, restrict which apps are allowed to use GPS with Xposed modules such as XPrivacy.
I am having the exact same issue,
I verified the MD5, cleaned everything, updated to MK2, everything is untouched, no tweeks, all original. first I could not pick up calls, then email would stop responding, then camera would freeze, only solution is to do a battery pull but the problem comes back after a couple of days
I am willing to do a fresh everything install if i know it's going to fix the issue, but like you, I have been using wicked since v7 and I am sure I followed all the steps.

I went out of my way to add all the add-ons and stock theme and alot of users dont bother to read pass the download link or even read the instructions! Me or any minion will no longer make an attempt to help those users who dont read the op!
I did consider not updating this rom because of the unappreciative users who trashed my thread because they didnt bother to read the op then proceeded to start talking trash and knocking the rom!
If you dont like the rom flash a different one or make your own! There is plenty of guides to do so! Im not a computer tech or anything like that, Im a normal guy who works as a mechanic I work 60 hrs a week and have 3 kids! I do this in what little free time I dont have! I taught myself how to read code and build roms all from guides here on xda! So if I can do it anyone can! Now anyone can see in my threads me and the minions go out of our way alot to help users make stuff on their own and to help fix issues, if you are to lazy to read the op and mess up your phone you are on your own for now on! When the op says full wipe, that means full wipe not clear cache and complain that the play store dont work! When me or a minion say to redownload and clean install do it! All of my roms are fully tested by me for about a week then it goes to my testers! I use my phone for everything and must be stable! So if you are having a odd issue or your battery life sucks 99.9% its user error! Do what the op says if you dont want issues! If you dont like the rom then move on! There is no need for all the childish behavior that went on here!
Now Im taking a couple of much needed days off and also working on another s4 rom, no more pm's will be answered about what went on here! Just know that this is a free service, if you cant appreciate the free work that any developer, themer or individual puts out then you are a tool and need to buy an iphone!
