EDIT: They only offered me a Skyrocket at first, but I was nice and friendly, and the rep went to talk to her supervisor and gave me the ION and One X as options too.

Digitizer died on my i777 wednesday night. Sent to samsung for replacement, AT&T gave me the upgrade to One X. Managed to get cm10 running (thanx to all in the relevant forums), but am not sure if I'll be switching back if/when samsung sends me a working handset.

Thoughts are always appreciated, I will report back when I've had more time.

I've been trapped in refurb hell since early November. The original phone that I bought new at the corp store had the power button fail. 1st refurb the USB port failed after a week. 2nd unit was broken out of the box, wouldn't even boot. 3rd unit had wires sticking up where the snaps for the cover meet the phone, so the battery cover wouldn't snap on all the way. This left the battery loose to it kept restarting.

I tried to get them to send me a new device, or a different model. Nope, no dice, sent another POS. This thing lags horribly, and gets really hot under normal use.

Ive noticed with Samsung, once you hit the refurb train its a crap shoot.

I have an upgrade due in February, and they wouldn't even budge on that.

Not what I'm used to from AT&T that's for sure. Especially considering we spend almost $500/month on their service!

I think I just got a small string of helpless reps. I'd be happy if I could just get an S2 that works. It's what I paid for.

It has gotten a bit ridiculous.

Well I called the other day and they will automatically send me a GSIII but I do have to pay $199. No longer a choice to get the GSII through insurance.

So, what I'm getting now, if you still have an i777 under contract you can upgrade early to a S III? Do they let you choose any other phone (I'm thinking of a Note II)?
