[Q] Possible to flash stock nb0 HBoot in stock recovery?
Hi! Would it be possible to flash stock nb0 HBoot in stock recovery? I have a HTC Flyer which is S-ON and not yet bootloader-unlocked. Here are the details:
Model: HTC Flyer Wifi-Only
Symptom: Cannot access HBoot by "POWER+Vol" and "adb reboot bootloader". Flyer only shows me a black screen if I do that.
HBoot version: 1.00.0015 (checked by "Revolutionary".)
Available tool(s): adb-only since HBoot doesn't work. That is, no "fastboot", and therefore, those RUUs and bootloader unlock won't work, either.
Conditions: Currently temp rooted, and now with stock recovery.
Goal: Permanently root the device
Would it be possible for me to just flash HBoot with the officially-signed nb0 HBoot file in stock recovery? Or, does it need to be converted to IMG before I can proceed? I didn't flash the stock ROM in the stock recovery because I want to preserve my settings and data there. I know that I need to be able to access HBoot to unlock bootloader and flash a custom recovery to have root access. However, since HBoot is not available now, alI can do is restore my HBoot.
BTW, the device is now out-of-warranty, so I cannot take it to HTC and ask for a restore.
Does anyone know if it is possible to flash stock nb0 HBoot in that stock recovery way?
