Hmm.. that I dont know. If the "ABOUT PHONE" menu is correct on my phone, then I'm still on 3.0 I guess - right?!
Man... No it wont, read the front page 3.6.2 is android 2.3.4

Can anyone comment on the stereo microphone hi gain clipping problem that was apparent in the stock 2.3.4 camcorder? Has that problem been fixed with the Amaze camera?

That problem is here. I believe it is because this is still Sense 3.0 Camera... (take into consideration the Amaze comes with Sense 3.0 stock)

XDA must have mixed up forum settings:

on Sense 3.5 stock camera the problem is completely gone
Amaze camera running on Sense 3.5 is not as bad as Stock 3.0 was.
I can say that this mod works perfectly on ARHD 4.1.3 with stock kernel, however stock kernel makes that rom lag a lot so its a choice of performance vs camera function until we can get hold of a ZSL kernel driver
thank you for the great camera. However, please find some issues:
1. Picture quality is quite low - 600-900 kb photos compared to almost 3 MB with Sense 3.0 and modded camera
2. No bitrate select for 720 p
3. Panorama does not have any options - set maximum number of photos etc
4. HDR quality is surprisingly low - just slightly different compared to normal mode
5. Movie quality is fine, but seems lower than 3.0 camera with same bitrate
anyway compliments for achieving so many features for our stupid cameras

Its not just the apk just flash your rom back over the top should sort it out

How to get better quality photos! (less compression)
The time of "unreal" photos is over!
After made some test, if you uncheck "Auto enhance", at camera options, you will get a clear photo and very detailed.
Obviously, whit this you will get a bigger size photo (usually more than twice)
This used to be a problem whit low light environment!

also can i ask a question, im finding for close up shots the camera focuses really well, but seems to just miss the focal point for things close to the lense, like an inch away, u have to hold it a good distance then zoom, is this the same for others?

HTC Amaze Camera MOD
This is the HTC Amaze camera as seen HERE for Sense 3.5 / 2.3.5 ROMs made by myself and Baadnewz
Tested on S3N5EaY and iNsertCoin ROMs
This only works with STOCK KERNEL at the moment (Stock kernel is need for the ZSL - "ZERO Shutter Lag")
Must flash stock kernel first
- Much faster snap shop and focus
- New Auto mode
- New SmartShot mode (Takes multiple photos at once and combines them to make a better shot)
- New SweepShot (Like Panoramic without having to stop)
- New Clearshot HDR
- New BurstShot (Takes multiple photos at once really fast)

- New Action mode (to take images of fast moving objects)

If you experience FCs on camera then: Go to settings > manage apps -> select all > CAMERA - > and use "clear data"

Is damn explained everywhere.
With 3.5 htc updated the camera drivers, but we dont have the sources for that, so kernel devs have to work alot to fix it. not even with stock 3.5 camera you cant have burst mode or panorama when using custom kernel
mate i suggest you get a nokia87Im intrested in stock gallery ONLY zip flash file.. Can you provide it for us pleeease mate

The stock gallery exist in 2nd post,
but when u click that link,It pop out with a messedge:
"Invalid or Deleted File"
Hope someone could upload it
I also hope that someone uploads it. I want the default gallery
Here you have, it's the zip provided by baadnwz to revert to stock cam and gallery, with the HTCCamera.apk removed, so you'll get the stock gallery and remain with the amaze cam
