GPS not fixing on any 4.2/4.3 rom
Now before I begin, I want to mention I've been looking for a GPS solution for the past few weeks, all over the XDA forums until I decided to finally open a thread.
So this is my story. Being bored with my 4.1.2 JB on my i9100, I decided to install a custom 4.2/4.3 rom. I tried Ressurection Remix, Slim, Chameleon, Cyanfox, ParanoidAndroid and probably a few others. Had a great experience with all of them and was using RR for a few weeks, but my only issue on all of these roms was the fact that the GPS would never fix.
I can see that the GPS locates, at any time, between 5-10 satellites but never gets a fix. At the very few random times, it would fix and then disconnect, but that FIX that I would get would take anywhere between 5-15 minutes.
I've tried basically every recommendation I have found here.
- enable static GPS
- changes to the gps.conf file
- downloading a plethora of GPS aiding apps (TOP NTP etc...)
- flashing back to stock, getting a GPS fix, and without disabling the GPS, flashing into recovery and flash custom rom.
- tried a few different custom roms 4.2 and 4.3
The only 2 things I havent done are install a new kernel and change the modem, but from what I have read, they dont influence the GPS. (I could have read wrong)
Does anyone out there that is using a 4.2/4.3 THAT HAS HAD THESE ISSUES, have you actually resolved them? If so, how?
Im back on 4.1.2 right now and its terrible
