Yes it was unlocked? Can someone post thier accessibility file? I'll try to overwrite it. Everything else seems fine so far.

Not sure what you're talking about here...........

I have a random question about the ROM though. My phone only recognizes 2gb microSD cards. After flashing to WM6.1 has that changed at all? Or is it hard to say? I know it may depend on the hardware but where does this ROM stand as far as recognizing SD cards?

After flashing to 6.1 your phone should recognize microSDHC (high-capacity) cards such as 6GB and so on...

That is great news and I hope it is correct. I thought there might be some hardware limitation but the phone has been flashed with a different ROM so one would think that the limitation would go along with the old ROM (should the new one incorporate the needed support that is).

Tried to install 6.1 for Dash

I have managed to install Kavana wm 6.1 on my t-mobile dash. I have installed twice and removed twice. each time everything seems to work other that the keyboard. the right half seems to be mapped correctly but the left side is complete wrong. I don't know what to do? Is there a simple way to make the default qwerty keyboard work correctly?

I believe that what I've seen seems to make the upgrade worth while, but I can't get past the keyboard problem.

Help anyone

Thanks

I have a T-Mobile Dash that I upgraded from their 6.0 ROM to the Kavanna 6.1. I just replaced my 2GB Kingston MicroSD card with a Patriot Class 6 4GB MicroSDHC card. Works perfectly - just plugged it in. I understand the 6GB and even 8GB cards work as well (from other posts). I have noticed that when playing on shuffle play, If I want to skip a song it will get a little clunky moving to the next one. But that may be due to having 700 songs on the card instead of 100 as I did on the 2GB one. Probably just stresses out the processor a little more heavily. But other than that, there is no difference in the way it operates.

Oh you, you're getting my hopes up! lol I have a friend who will let me test a 4gb card. If it works I will look into buying a 6-8gb card. I'm hoping it does work. Although my phone was made in china and provided to me by T-Mo. Watch there be some sort of hardware limitation.

I'm wondering if I will be able to install this upgrade since I am not knowledgable with the phone software? I am trying to download the update now and it's taking ~ 1 hour - is this normal or do I have a slow connection? Also, can you give me any tips to help make this fool proof for me? Questions - do I have to install a unlock first? Should I do a run or save the download first?

All tips will be greatly appreciated. I have been about ready to throw this "dash" away for quite some while now - never have liked it and have always discouraged anyone else from purchasing it.

Thanks very much.

dont do anything until you read all the sticky's. with a a question such as "should i run or save the download?" and "do i have to install and unlock first?" im fairly certain you have done no research and im pretty sure you have read 0 sticky's. once you read that stuff, if you have REAL questions, please feel free to ask.

I actually did read quite a few of the stickys but still unclear on my questions. The further I would read I wasn't sure. It seemed to me in one posting you should do one thing then in another you shouldn't. Sorry to have asked a dumb question. You didn't have to take the time to reply if it inconvenience you. As I said I am an amatuer...and know nothing about phone software, etc.

I downloaded the file two times now on two different computers and both times while trying to install get the error about image or something being corrupted.

Have you read the Sticky entitled, "Error 270 Fix"? It sounds like you're dealing with the dreaded Error 270...

I was able to test a 4GB Micro SDHC card in my phone and it was recognized (Insanely excited at this moment). Worked fine. The card is a Class 6. From what I've read this is the transfer speed rating. Taking a look at the 8GB SDHC cards the "class" is 4. This shows up on the card inside a large C. So a 4GB card would have "C6" on it where the 6 is inside the "C." If I get an 8GB card will the "C4" rating stop the card from working in my phone or will the transfer rate just be slower than that of a 4GB card?

Kavana,

I noticed that you replied to a poster earlier this year that this ROM does not support East Asia fonts and referred him to a ROM you made that had both Chinese and English. I am currently running the t-mo 6.0 ROM and had installed CE-star to allow me to view and write Japanese. Can I just re-install CE-star after upgrading to your 6.1 to give me the same capability or am I out of luck?

Thanks.

Now, you need to stop Activesync from periodically starting on it's own. To do so open Activesync on your WM5 device and tap on Menu>Add Server Source. Add any info to create a fake server sync. After that is complete go to Menu>Schedule and change the two dropdowns to "Manual" and tap "ok" at the top right. You can now go to Menu>Options and delete the Exchange Server setting you just added. Now Activesync will not start when you cradle your device.

Found that here: http://www.mobilewave.ro/forum/topic-2549.html

Could someone verify?
