MISC Files taking up all my space
The other day while updating apps I had insufficient storage available. But I had plenty of storage available:
The next day, after realizing I still could not update any apps, I did some more investigating and found all the partitions had plenty of space. I even trimmed the partitions and restarted the phone:
I began wondering what that miscellaneous files were and found that System Memory was taking 6.38GB of storage. I also realized there was no way of telling the contents of System memory. Apps such as ES FileExplorer, Root Explorer, DiskUsage, or Storage Analyser could tell me.
Getting Desperate, I decided I would go into ClockWorkRecovery to backup the phone and format the internal SD card. But I discovered there was no option to format the internal SD Card, instead I could only format: /cache, /system, /data, /data and /data/media, /dalvic. So I formatted all of them.
After rebooting the phone I found that System Memory has INCREASED IN SIZE
from 6.38GB to 6.52GB!!!
Additionally, I still can not update apps:
What is this System Memory that is taking all my storage and how do I delete it? Further, how come the market is telling me I have no storage space available>
