From what I gather, they dictate the partition of the internal SD card. Almost all rom uses 512.pit, but some prototype froyo rom used 803.pit because Samsung needed a bigger partition to accommodate Froyo at that time

Please advice me how to update to 4.0.4 from 4.0.3 with Odin. I have an P3110 ICS 4.0.3 and I wish to go to the next version but I dont know how, and I don't wan to kill my Tab

Please advice! Thanks in advanced!

1. Download and unpack firmware
2. Install Samsung drivers onto your PC (you don't need it if you already have Kies insalled)
3. Enter your tablet into Download mode (Power Off it, then press and hold Vol- and Power buttons, confirm entering in download mode by Vol+ button) and connect tablet to the PC
4. Launch Odin (If you have Kies - check that it is closed before launching Odin)
5. Click on the PDA button an select P3110XXBLH1_P3110OXXBLH1_HOME.tar.md5
6. Click Start button and wait until flashing will be done

First you should have a backup of your rom firmware in your computer, just in case.
Then you should decide you you want to be rooted.
Final just flash the rom on OP (Opening post).
Post here your product code in order to find that backup. To look for it, if you have windows got to regedit and look for CURRENT_USER/software/samsung/Kies/DeviceDB/ and find the folder that have HIDSWVER and ProductCode

Either try samfirmware.com and try to register first then search for firmware for your device and flash with odin but you will have to root again and i heard that rooting 4.0.4 is somewhat more diffecult or install custom rom that is 4.0.4 as near stock debloated rom or cm9 which is 4.04 and the latter two are already rooted

Or root in 4.0.3 and then upgrade to 4.0.4 using mobile odin with everroot marked. You will keep root.

nfribeiro I have Windows 7 x64 an in registry I found this for HIDSWVER P3110XXALD4/P3110OXXALD4/P3110XXALD4/P3110XXALD4 and for ProductCode this: GT-P3110XXXCOA my Tab is an P3110, it's not rooted and I'm from Romania.

PS Do I lose my warranty (2years) after doing the update via Odin and in the future if will be release others updates I will can make them?
I find in another post that after some users from North updated to 4.0.4 the Wi-Fi signal it's dead and they can't connect to a rooter, it's true? Thanks!

If you are worried about the warranty then I would personally just wait, it should not be too long (hopefully!) for the rest of us to get the official updates via kies or ota

This is your actual rom http://samsung-updates.com/get/1384/Samsung_Firmware_GT-P3110_COA_P3110XXALD4_Android_4_0_3.html Download it. You must have it in your PC if you decide to try another rom.
I am with 4.0.4 and I don't have any issues. In fact, it is a lot better than 4.0.3.
You can try this 4.0.4 even without root, just flash it with PC ODIN (will not increase flash counter because it's official) and after that do a wipe cache partition in stock recovery (I don't need to do any factory reset but it is optional). It have multi CSC including COA, therefore your product code will not change. Mine remained the same.
At any time you can revert back to your P3110_COA and then update with Kies to 4.0.4 when available (but it is not necessary).

But there is a problem.I also have a 2 year guarantee, but my 4.0.3 was rooted.Now my flash counter is 1, although it says samsung official. Would that be a problem in case of sending it in service ?

Yes that could cause problems if they know you rooted it but not in all cases as some stores check only for accessories with tab then accept return or repair but if it goes to samsung service guys they could know you flashed device and refuse repair under warrany
search for triangle away app in google play or xda and it will reset the counter now supports our tab newest version 1.80 but do not use it except if necessary (if you need warrany repair) as incorrect use may brick tab and read post carefully and after using it avoid flashing non signed kernels and roms etc via pc odin and use mobile odin for this you could flash signed roms by samsung via pc odin will not increase counter counter increase only if unsigned roms or kernels flashed via pc odin only

It says samsung official because you are now on a stock kernel. The problem is the flash counter.
You should reset it as soon as possible (after you decide if you want reroot again) because if you brick the device you will not be able to run the app!!!
And if you wnat to be rooted consider the possibility to use mobile odin to flash without increase and to maintain root.

I used all your advice and update my Tab P3110 until now all it's ok I see a BIG change in sound, and how the touch screen response, until now! The Wi Fi it's OK and i see a new kernel number. I used Mobile Odin and it's keep my root access! That's sooo coll!

PS It's got all the language there, don't know why the Samsung don't push this update to OTA or Kies ?!?

.Now my flash count is 0 and official samsung rom.:laugh:, and my p3110 still has CWM and is rooted so good job.

Thanks for the feedback. I am glad I could help. Now that you are rooted never update using Ota, kies or pc odin, use only mobile odin to keep root.
