Since many users are updating their phones(finally) to 4.3 we need to find a way to root it..
For Unlocked Bootloaders you can flash advanced kernel and (wow!) you are rooted!
but what about Locked Bootloaders?

I think @DooMLoRD will find a way to root a phone with a locked bootloader!
We just have to wait for someone to release an exploit on this.
Be patient devs are working on it ;)

No it is not the same.... If your phone is band new then it will have a locked bootloader.

Unless you have done anything to it Sony phones come with it locked

I am assume we will need to use the .254 root method.

Downgrade kernel, root, upgrade kernel.......i am wanting cwm or twrp

Someone in the "release" thread said that he first unlocked the BL, flashed the advanced kernel, root, then relock the BL.

Edit: this here post: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=50255942

Edit2: this here method: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=50256189 ... but I think he had steps 1 & 2 in wrong order, because unlocking BL = deleting TA.

I'm not sure you can run 4.3 on a 4.1.2 kernel

You are correct...... I was only making an assumption but having read doomlords updated thread it will lead to bricked device.

Sure there will be a fix soon for root and recovery on locked bootloader.

Niaboc is releasing his new ROM soon this will have root..... after that just need recovery.
