Is our Prada 3.0 capable of Video-call? Having a front facing camera I would think it would... but I just can´t find that option!
I'm on ICS V20D...

yes, it is. 3g video calling should be possible. but please ask in the general prada 3.0 thread.

Hello Sir @milaq,

I have SU760 official ICS 4.0.4 running, I installed your 1.0.1.0 Version apk and chose TWRP and it installed flawlessly.

It has been working great ever since. Now that you have updated your APK and it installs directly into recovery partition I wanted to know is it safe to install it in Optimus 3d SU760?

I know that an other developer dexter I guess have a working recovery but it only works with custom U-Boot and then you have to flash many other files, that process just scares me.

i've updated the installer so that it uses safe paths. i suggest you do a backup of the recovery partition with
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.1/by-name/recovery of=/sdcard/recovery.bak
in a terminal shell.

also, make a backup of your data via the 2nd init recovery you already have installed.

afterwards it should be alright to use version 2.1 of the recovery installer.
since we can access fastboot, the p940,p920 and variants are very hard to brick.

Okay I tried to install this new Recovery in my LG Optimus 3D SU760 running official ICS 4.0.4, right after I tried to enter recovery my phone just shut down an now it is not turning on.

It shows LG Logo and just turns off again. The Older version worked the one which was being installed in ROM itself and not the Recovery partition.

About the Key combination I tried Volume Minus + 3D Button nothing happened. Then I tried Volume Plus + 3D button and it bricked.

The older version worked maybe because it only needed Volume Negative button, and Prada has Camera button where Optimus 3D has 3D button.

Whatever the reason I thought you guys should know. Best of Luck

thanks for sharing.

myeah, the o3d cant load the kernel included in the new recovery. although both devices share most of their hardware, their kernels greatly differ.

the old recovery method used 2nd-init, which means it used your kernel (the one that is already installed in your system).

but you should be able to unpack the boot image, repack it with your kernel and sign it with ifttool. you should have a working recovery then.

I have absolutely no Idea what you are talking about.

Anyway If you have spare time someday look into it. I have uploaded "boot.emmc.win" and "recovery.emmc.win" files here made by your TWRP on SU760. I don't know if it will be helpful but here it is anyway.

alright :)

made a quick and dirty recovery image from the kernel you provided and the p940 recovery ramdisk.
if the second init recovery worked, this one should too (not sure though).
this is already signed, so you can use it with the stock bootloader.

please test and let me now.
THIS IS NOT FOR THE P940!!! ONLY FOR THE SU760!

Does anyone know if this is safe on the P769 T-Mobile US version? I am reading in the thread for this device that some say it works. Others say to not use this because will not be able to restore to stock. If you need any info from my device just let me know and I will post.

Clockworkmod Recovery (CWM) + TeamWin Recovery (TWRP) for LG P940 (Prada 3.0)

As we can't modify neither boot nor recovery partition we need use 2nd-init.
This means that the whole recovery resides on the system partition.
For more info see this article about 2nd-init: http://cvpcs.org/blog/2011-06-14/2nd-init._what_it_is_and_how_it_works

This is now a fully signed recovery!
We can manually sign the images now (leaked LG RSA keys). This means this installs to the separate recovery partition and is not bound to the installed rom anymore.

You can also flash a custom recovery via fastboot (no prior rooting required)
    see http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2250277

    How to install
    • Make sure you have rooted your phone (e.g. by following this guide by Walhalla: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=28568521&postcount=8)
    • Download the apk
    • Install the apk on your phone
    • Press "Install Recovery" and grant superuser permissions
    • Be patient and press "ok" once finished
    • Reboot and hold VOLUME DOWN + CAMERA while booting
    • Celebrate

NOTE: I take no responsibility whatsoever for raging, screaming, crying, frustration, failing, confusion, etc.

    Changelog

    2.3
    • TWRP once again included (also fully signed)
    • CWM updated to latest version
    2.2
    • New kernel
    • Drastically improved partition format speed
    • Internal SD is now default, use "... from external SD" to use your slot SD card
    2.1
    • Use safer paths for install procedure
    2.0
    • Full recovery (no more 2nd-init)
    • Installs to your recovery partition
    • Not bound to installed rom
    1.0.1.0

    1.0.0.4
    • Fixed "Reboot to recovery"

    FIRST POST UPDATED!

We now have a fully fledged recovery (no 2nd init).
Have a look at the first post for more information.

    WARNING !

This method may lead to hard reset instead of recovery. I managed to wipe one Prada 3.0 doing exactly that
"Reboot and hold VOLUME DOWN + CAMERA while booting"

of course, if you forgot to flash a custom recovery image (i.e. the one included), you will wipe DATA and CACHE (not everything). because this is what the stock recovery does. CWM does not.
