Wireless Hotspot hack procedure *Working*

Hello,
I know I'm late for this forum, but I've search (on here and google) and I'm having a problem with the hotspot app. I can connect to a computer or what ever device with the hotspot app but there is no internet connection. Both my Razer Maxx HD and computer (and other devices) say they're connected but the computer will say no internet access (and the other devices will do the same) as well as the Maxx HD itself cant go online while the hotspot is active. I've tried clearing the cache, restarting, enabled apps that might have been causing it, and did all that rsq stuff but nothing. Only thing I haven't tried is formatting my phone, but I'm not ready to do that (nor should I really have to). Does anyone have anything for me?

Check in your apn settings that it has "dun" in "APN type". It's basically what tells the "shared access point" which connection to bridge to.
My APN type (french carrier but it should be the same for others) goes: default,supl,agps,fota,dun,hipri
I used to have this pb when the apn installed automatically by my carrier did not had this flag set.

I have a Razr HD with Verizon's (143.86.10.XT926) KK 4.4.2...I've rooted the phone with Towelroot / installted TWRP, but haven't gotten around to installing CM11. I read all 13 pages of this thread, but don't see anything quite like what I am running into.
I installed the $2.99 SQLite and followed the directions on pg 1.
When I select "Settings Storage" (w/ the hammer & wrench), then "Settings.db" I get a list of "sections" (e.g. android_metadata, global, secure, sqlite_sequence, system). So I go through all of them.
In the "secure" section I found "entitlement_check" and "usb_entitlement_check" on lines 60 and 61... And both are already 0.
If I turn on Wifi Hotspot I get a message the feature hasn't been enabled by my carrier (not surprising).
Then I found these threads:

The 2nd one has an alternate solution I haven't tried yet.

Yah, figured that out... The thing is, I don't want to tether. I want a wifi hotspot cause I want to allow a tablet to use the phone as a gateway when I'm traveling. Does "tethering" include wifi?
I've been watching the various CM11 threads but my initial attempt to install one of the nightlies it didn't work. I was able to recover to a backup I made with TWRP. I see that the CM11-M10 snapshot build just camout out on 9/16 so I may try that one.

That's what it does. That is tethering, whether it's USB or WiFi. Either way, CM11 already has it enabled by default, and the hack allows WiFi Hotspot Tethering and/or USB tethering.

Hi guys another poster tipped me off to the entilement hack to get the stock hotspot app working and I tried it and it works. I figured i would post it here to take care of people waiting for a foxfi update and to keep the procedure listed in the RAZR HD section. As always, use at your own risk.
Here's what you need:
SQL Lite Editor (not the manager) - it's $2.99 from the play store.
Here is the procedure:
1) Open SQL Lite Editor and in the default "Apps" list, scroll all the way down to "Settings Storage" but you must choose the one with the hammer and wrench graphic. There are two choices there - gotta be hammer and wrench. Tap on it to open.
2) Tap "settings.db" then tap "settings"
3) Scroll down to line 68 where it says "entitlement_check" and tap on it to highlight it and then tap on the pencil on the top of the screen to edit it.
4) Change the value from 1 to 0 and tap "save"
5) Use the back button to exit the app and hold the power button and reboot the phone.
When it starts back up just go into the "Mobile Hotspot" app provided by verizon and you're all set!

I'm talking about the WiFi Tether app.
First root and then download v3.2 Beta 2 from here:

Then go into the app and go to settings->Change Device-Profile and choose "generic ICS/JB (wlan0)"
That seems to work best on this device (read that somewhere else on the forums.)
I'm using that method and it works great.2Hey guys...If you go to the Google development website android-wifi-tether (Wireless Tether for Root Users) http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/ and download the apk - wifi_tether_v3_2-beta2.apk. Just go to 'Settings' > 'Change Device-Profile' > select "Generic ICS/JB (wlan0). Enter your SSID and Passphrase and it works great without having to purchase an app. Note: I have tried wifi_tether_v3_3-pre1 & 2.apk and can confirm that they do not work with VZW Razr HD XT926. When I activate the mobile hotspot on my cell, my computer and others' phones are able to see the activate hotspot. However, my PS3 and tablet (Nexus 7) do not see my cell's hotspot. What is even more baffling, is that when I use FoxFi, the PS3 and tablet see my cell's hotspot, no problem. Does this have something to do with the DHCP settings or what? Many thanks!
