I'm feeling this ROM much smoother and faster than audacity beta 3. Less laggy and graphic glitch. I tried it with many applications from normal use: Gmail, Gmap, Browser, ES File Manager ... to heavily applications like game: Death Rally, Lair Defense Dungeon, The Sim 3... and it look most stable almost time.

What's I like is: performance, fast gpu render, good battery life (I have whole 1 day heavily use with: Gmail, News reader, Call, SMS, Google Play, games... with 1500mAh Scud battery)

I also use SetCPU, Handy Profiles, LBE Privacy Guard together to get best battery saver and privacy control.

The download link to Beta4 generates a virus scanner (McAfee) notification: Js/Exploit.gen - Trojan found on Website.
Has anyone else this problem?

Is't maybe a ads from mediafire :0

What profiles and settings do you have set in SetCPU?

Awesome. Another Beta. I'll try to flash this over Beta 1 and see what happens. I'll report once I download and flash. :)

Edit:

Okay, so I flashed this over Beta 1, and so far, so good. Initially, after flashing over and wiping both cache and dalvik, it was reaaaally laggy. Good thing I was distracted a bit by work :p and let it settle for a while. After a couple of minutes, it was responsive just like i am used to. No noticeable speed difference (probably due to the reason that I did not do a full wipe) but camera flash works (yay!)

I flashed this before and once again (as with beta 3), after setting everything up, the ROM was quite laggy. Menus within apps were quick and apps weren't slow to load but the homescreen and trebuchet in general are just not up to speed (no pun intended).

Also, the camera preview issue still exists before taking the first photo. Then after taking the first photo, the camera preview is in the wrong aspect ratio as everything looks very skewed and out of proportion when taking 5mp photos.

Once again, i hope these issues can be sorted out because i've been dying to use this ROM as a daily driver. I've gone back to the rather trustworthy audacity beta 3 for now.

Thanks for the updates either way though, any progress is better than no progress and the work here is VERY appreciated :).

Here are my profiles:
- Under voltage to lowest for: Time: 00:00 =>05:00, AC Charge
- Under voltage to middle for: Screen off
- Normal or high value for: USB Charge (sometime I debug via adb and I need it work fast), In-Call,
- Under voltage when battery get lower than: 25%, 15%

You can check / use my profiles attached in this post.

I think it is better to make a new thread about improve performance, stability, battery life and we can share more useful tips and settings.

Thanks for this, yeah I think a performance thread would be quite useful, folks can share their setups and compare battery life

I discovered that preview is visible after one quick changing the resolution. It's somewhat faster and simpler than making a photo and erasing it later.

I installed over Audacity beta 3 with full wipe. The camera in this beta has preview problem and every taken picture has a green line on it. Camera works flawlessly in Auda beta 3 though.

Best ICS rom by far with Beta 4.

Still used to MIUI but this will do for ICS.

Camera preview still not working until picture/res change.
Green line still on photos at the bottom.

Very snappy. No FC's so far, just pressed WAIT on all of them and they did no harm.

Gonna run this as Daily for a while.

Well..beta4 seems to be muuuuch faster. At least, after a flash. When I flashed beta3 it was lake an armageddon - continious crashes and lags - after I installed all my usuals apps.
However, there are several things in beta4 which really disappoint me - suddenly, menu wake option is inactive and, what is more, vision doesn't recognise hidden Wifi (had to make it visible, connect and after that make invisible again)
Does anybody have same issues?

Err, one more thing - the phone actually loses hidden network - after several hours. rather a pity

DJMartini, what about your Wifi?

Wow! I'm very impressed with Beta 4 ... Pretty much everything is working. I wasn't sure if a ICS Rom would work well on G2's single core 800mhz processor, but it's doing GREAT! Smoother than CM7 I'd say.

My only complaint is Wifi calling, but I'm sure that's coming.

Question, does anyone know how to enable the slider WITH Pin for security? On CM7 it allowed rotator/apps with PIN after you unlocked?

Thank you

Hi guys, is this going to be an official Cyanogenmod 9 for the DZ when it's finished? Or is this just some unofficial port by someone. Sorry if this was asked earlier, I'm just curious.

Superuser bug

Hi, I just install the new BETA 4 (after BETA 3) and I have an issue with Superuser app. Every time an app wants root rights and the Superuser pops up and asks what to do. I keep the "remember" checked and choose to allow, it didn't remember and it will asks again. I tried on Titanium Backup and AdFree apps and both did it. Its very annoying to click allow every time (About 10 times during TB starts and every backup/restore).

I tried to reinstall the ROM twice and every time I did full wipe before.

Sorry for the inactivity, i have buy a laptop for cheap and i was configuring a build environment for ICS, who may work with JellyBean too.
I have succeeded to build ICS from scratch and now i'm almost ready for a new release, need to fix and update the 3.0 kernel before any new release, the frame buffer is broken at this moment. and the WI-FI hotspot have been fix. :victory:

A lot of people say that i should make a CM10 build to have more chose..
Like blk_jack have say earlier i'm using some Andromadus commit for my kang.
Well my CM10 build will look a lot like Flinny test build but mine will be more proper, more CM10 related, less

If you would like that i make a CM10 kang. Click on thanks!! :highfive:
    7
Well I'm going back to CM7.
This is not a working rom actually.
Backup functions and Google Account should be INTEGRATED IN the rom, not installed separatelly.
I can't install any working app from the store without gaps and I can't install gaps without an explorer. Stupid. And if I install Titanium Bckp from an apk that does NOT work propelly. Titanium is being shut down every time I run it (after about 30 secconds of using it).
    That sucks!

And Could anyone EXPLAIN me why the rom does not have these features included???
Maybe I don't understand something here.

    greetings

You're acting like a complete dummy who can't figure out the basics of flashing ROMs 101. Seriously, read some of the stickied posts and stop ignoring the advice people have already given you in this thread.

To summarize for you, not that I think you'll read this reply but I might as well give it a go:

    1. CyanogenMod cannot bundle gapps with their ROMs due to Google (licensing restrictions)
    2. You flash gapps through your recovery, just like you do when installing a ROM
    3. You can create a flashable zip from within Titanium Backup that you can flash with your ROM to have TiBu automatically installed w/o market access

Honestly though, I think you really should stick w/ stock. There are things you have to do to install ICS properly (make sure your partitions are ext4, etc) that I simply don't think you're equipped enough to handle. As they say, KISS.

Hey don't let this post die
I'm still working on it ;)

New major change will be :
    -Lord Clockan's kernel
    -Panorama Camera
    -ICS audio with MIC working
and the last but not the least
    -CyanogenMod 9 Boot Animation @ 75FPS

with all the new things from cyanogen git :)

will try OMX integrated before any new release, but if you make pressure for a new release i will do it :)
    6
any tips how to get camera flash working ?

    terminal app > su > chmod 777 /sys/camera_led_status/led_ril_status
