Is it possible to restore JB backup in ICS via PC suite?

(I mean whole device backup) So i tried it, but I got error: "The backup file device software version is invalid".
It make me sense that it is difficult maybe impossible to restor newer OS data to the older one. Despite this, is it really impossible or it is possible but I did something wrong?

Come on... so many threads about downgrading and noone shares his experience with backup restoring?

I don't think a lot of people here really use PC Suite, all I know is how to "Upgrade Recovery," sorry.
