I'm getting great battery life, and why wouldn't it let u install the kernel? What do u mean?
Same thing happened to me but I re-downloaded the rom and now I can. Kind of weird

I installed it fine without du gapps. Just use a different kind
I just use the ones provided by paranoid android or banks. Any will work. I have used slims as well
Man. I love DU. Always has been one of my favorite rom's since it first emerged. Thanks for bringing this to the S3!
My Canadian Galaxy S3 SGH-i747m on Rogers was unusably slow on stock 4.3 and I was rooted so couldn't get the OTA update to 4.4. So I tried this. It really is excellent. All I wanted was something simple and stable that would get my phone running at a usable speed again. This does the trick really nicely and the phone is way faster than it was on stock 4.3. Bluetooth works, the camera works, everything seems to work, and it is all fast and responsive. This is a great ROM.
The only problem I have noticed is an occasional error in the stock web browser: net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR shows up for some sites. But this doesn't happen for all sites, so it could be a problem with the site's certificate rather than DU.
Oh, and I'm using the Google Apps from CyanogenMod, without issue.
Edit: these comments were for the 0612 build, which seems to have been removed now. A few weeks later I have had a problem with process com.android.systemui suddenly stopping, and the phone is unusable because it just keeps popping up that error message. I don't know if this is the fault of the ROM. It happened after the phone suddenly rebooted itself while I was entering a note into Evernote.

ill fix the du gapps soon. i did get a moto g if yall didnt know (you need to have a g+ lol) & also am on summer vacation in south carolina. I DIDNT FORGET ABOUT YOU GUYS. i just don't have a pc here. but no worries i promise you guys i will still build for the d2lte.
Anyone know if this works for t999? Ive missed using du rom

Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP, but now based from OmniROM. DU brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom, but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. By doing so, we received high praise from not only our users but by fellow developers of other ROMs that also enjoy seeing things done the right way.
