I have one guess, As samsung is going to combine BADA and TIZEN together why cant we see the kernal code of TIZEN so that, we can get modem driver for s8500.. It is just a blind guess. kindly join me in this project.. Thanks!!

the source code for Tizen is device-inspecific, thus it won't include device drivers and even if it did, Samsung have no plans to port Tizen to Wave S8500, thus no drivers.

well in your other post you say you "broke" your working kernel... what exactly do you mean? you broke your kernel sources? I don't see how you could break the zImage itself..

Guys, just a moment... what is the actual problem? Drivers of modem or the sd drivers? I didn't understand well if the sd drivers were ported successfuly

if it's 3.0.8 branch it should be right.

EDIT: I use codesourcery toolchain, don't know what the others use.

I am really interested in joining this group.. I have C/C++ skill but so far I didn't code for any kernal kind of stuff.. I hope that, I can also help in this project in doing modem driver. The reason why I am willing to join is, I like programming and it is really fun..

If you want to join the project you should ask Mikegapinski or Rebellos.
They will ask you whether you can help them or not ;)

Errrmm, why are you trying mecha-lte? o_O
Our config is wave_s8500_defconfig...

@The guy with compiling errors:
You're using wrong compiler. Use toolchain with AOSP or CodeSourcery 2009q3

hmmm the sourcery tools have been taken under a new company, who has decided to make it annoyingly difficult to get the necessary tool, you have to fill in a form, then they give you access to links with all the releases:
http://www.mentor.com/embedded-soft...cery-codebench/editions/lite-edition/arm-eabi

(I gave fake details except for email)

I believe the exact name of the downloaded package is: arm-2009q3-68-arm-none-eabi-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.bz2
which is under EABI

    My targets in this project:

    Primary target: Android 4 ICS port for Samsung Wave S8500;
Secondary target: Android 4 ICS for Samsung Wave S8530.
    I. History:
    1. How I got my Wave ?

It was founded by bada-world.pl community after a big site komorkomania.pl published an article about my work on LG GT-540 Swift.
The donators were (exchange rate: 4,17 PLN):

    1. Comcio – 7,19 Euro - 28.03.2012r.

    2. Why I decided to start this port ?

I look for a new challenges and experiences, bcos a time to choose a job is getting closer and closer.

    3. All links news and what works can be found on polishblood.pl

    Caution:

All of that couldn't happen without great work of guys from Badadroid and all credits for creating method of booting Android go to rebellos, mijoma, srg.mstr, b.kubica, nbates66, anghelyi. If you think thay deserve a donation check their thread.

    Current kernel code:

Big day for Badadroid - I found and fixed "idle bug". Though there's sometimes issue when I rapidly order it to suspend and wakeup few times. However - kernel can now suspend most of live processes and go to sleep. :)

I am locking the thread till 24th of July. I am leaving on holidays.

So far I can give what is changed from current beta:
    -Updated to Jelly Bean
    -Kernel updated with incr patches
    -Voodoo sound suport in kernel
    -Bringing Simple I/O in kernel
-Undervolted cpu a little - less power consumption
-I am also testing BFS but that still needs improvments
    -Android Recovery added
-Data and Cache is moved to other partition by script like on 2.2

I've located all front camera functions and init tables in Bada kernel so we will get it working very soon. Back camera is much more complicated, so we it will take more time to run it.

Please don't PM me about "how is it going". I won't answer anyway. I'm slowly working on modem but it's boring and long work. Anyone with C/C++ experience is welcome to help, but first you would have to browse replicant RIL for Samsung as example.

I've just got touchscreen oriented properly. Still working on Idle bug, with no success for now.
