I've had mine enabled for a week or so now and haven't noticed any difference in battery or data speed.
Best phones I've had in 18 years of owning a cell phone ...................
1994 Motorola MicroTAC First "compact" cell phone, ever. My first cell phone, ever.
2007 HTC Advantage First phone with a 5" screen, ever. Had a stylus, too.
2012 Samsung Note Brilliant 5.3" screen. Useable form factor. Decent UI. Stylus. Best phone, ever.

It does help slightly with the standby-related battery life but at the expense of data connection speed. Since most of battery consumption is related to the screen on time more than anything else, I don't see this as a good trade off. I get 16~18 hrs with about 2~3 hrs of screen on time on the average anyway.
Going back to enable mode.
Still on CM9 but did disable... Then I flashed the next release forgetting to disable... I immediately noticed a faster drain in stand by mode... dilemma

Enable: ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=1
Disable: ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=0

You do not add the word Enable:/Disable: just add ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=#
I know I already posted this on another thread but a lot of people (not all) do not read the threads but still wanna know the fix so I thought it would be easier to start another thread and put it in the first post so nobody has to search for an answer. Fast Dormancy is believed to save battery life when disabled.

So are we adding one of these lines or both?
