I'm using the ota nandroid with faux kernel and I can't connect to wifi either. Tries to obtain an IP but fails and keeps trying to connect.

Nope. Same as you. Doesn't connect to wifi. Log says. Cannot stop DHCP. So yes it cannot get an IP

Faux offer better overall performance by sacrificing the WIFI .......
... unfortunately. Fortunately is the stock kernel is not too bad as well 
Is it a beta for actual 2.3.4 kernel? I thought it was just 2.3.3 with fixes from the 2.3.4 one.
What do you think this 2.3.4 "update" from LG is? It is just 2.3.3 with patches in it. Not much difference in them. They didn't even update the kernel version itself.

Beta 2 kernel here - WOW what a difference! So far so good, will report any problems but this is WAY better with regard to speed and RAM management than the stock one.
So how is every ones battery life so far? I definitely had better days before v21y. Any difference seen yet with faux's kernel? Just happy that voodoo is available on this rom now. Once again thank you to every one in here.

64As the title says this is the new v21y update rooted. You must have the march 2012 baseband or in call audio will not function properly.
Disclaimer:
Not responsible for anything that happens to your device. It is yours and you flash at your own free will.
ROM includes:
v21y 2.3.4 update
Root -unsecured boot.img
init.d support
deodexed (was already that way in the update)
zipaligned
I did not remove any of the bloatware in this version, you should know how to do that yourself.
Known issues..
If you do not have the march 2012 baseband in call audio WILL NOT WORK. You have to update the baseband.
To install:
1. Reboot into cwm
2. Wipe data/factory reset
3. Go to advanced>wipe dalvik cache
4. Go to mounts and storage>format /system.
5. Go to install zip from SD card.
6. Install the zip and reboot.

Use a file explorer go to system/app look for omadmclient.apk and delete it. This app is LGs ota update watcher. It constantly runs in the background. Deleting it frees the resources its silently leeching.

That is stated in the op. Its been a known issue since the update came out. The new baseband is not compatible with old roms. Or any from except for ones based on the update.
I have made a lot of progress on the new rom. However I've encountered a lot of headaches over this damn thing. Once I can get it stable I'll release it no eta. Going as fast as I can.
