Use this to root, and install Safestrap recovery. Follow the instructions to the T. If the terms "root" or "recovery" are new to you, there are many threads dedicated to these topics. Then, look around for a ROM that you like. Try a few out. HTC has the SenseUI, and you won't find too many roms that imitate that, for the Moto.
This is the development page. Find a ROM that intrigues you, try it out. You can always wipe it, and start fresh. The advantage to using Safestrap or BMM is it preserves the Stock ROM on the main partition. A failsafe, so to speak.
If you're on Verizon, you're on CDMA, which is the "spyder", not the "spyder_utms", which is GSM. Anything designed for the XT912 also work for the XT910, as the only difference is body and battery. Happy hunting.
On a side note, before doing ANY kind of root/ROM, prepare yourself with the appropriate fastboot recovery. Download every required file that you'll need, and install all of your drivers first.
