Tip and ROM development info

Hi to all,

This is a tip on how to change searchkey

With registry editor navigate to key

[HKLM\Software\OEM\WebSearchOverride]

and change the value of

"ActionType"=3

to 6

This will set searchkey to Bing (default action)

////////////////////////////////

A new 8773 ROM version 5.12.651.04

will be released soon as well as Gold_C Manager V1.0

that will replace U2M8107

And finding the solution to this just became more important than ever. Sprint changed my MSID code and now I can't enter the new one without flashing to a working ROM then reflashing back and restoring all my files.
Hope you can find this soon as my phone is totally unusable now.

this may be a dumb question, but here goes:

I am from the Android world, zero experience with WP7 and I want to buy this phone and flash your custom ROM

and the goal is to get this to work on Page Plus (Verizon MVNO) and NOT Sprint

I need Verizon coverage and a REAL keyboard at a cheap price ($55/month) and this looks like it could be the ticket!

I am having some problems with media messaging. I can't send or receive any picture messages. I am not on the sprint network, so that may have something to do with it. I am on US Cellular(a CDMA network). Is there a registry edit I can do that will solve this? Is anyone else having a similar issue> Everything else works great, but I would really like this to work. Please help.

I have the same problem as the person above I to am US Cellular and i cant receive Media messaging I have tired everything i have pulled the rom apart using os builder and tried to replace the operatorpkg but the resulted in a phone that just rebooted over and over i also tried to add the unlocks to a US Cellular rom and that resulted in a phone that stayed on the HTC logo screen it didnt reboot or anything just stayed there

Hello ansar. i have your "RUU_Gold_HTC_Europe_5.10.401.04_Radio_5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U_NT_Mango_7720_custom_by_ansar" ROM since march and i have send send with cabs the updates to 7740 and 8107, my phone is unlocked everything is OK i LOVE this ROM, but is there a way to update to Tango? 8773? or maybe some cabs with only a few languages i need. do you have this files? this ROM i have from you is great because i have only installed 4 or 5 languages, maybe you remember?! and now i see you have new roms, with new abilities and driver and so on. is there a way i can get to them because i have now bootloader 5.1.2250.0 i have lost RSPL/HSPL

but i have many files on this rom and apps and is there a way to send the cabs you have on this new rom here?

Hello dinchy, i see your problem looks quite complex, i wish you the best of luck in obtaining your goal. if you succeed please share all the useful tricks that you have found, they may help another windows phone 7 user in the future

Looking forward to trying out this rom ANSAR! I have been on DFT for quite sometime now but i just cant take the intermittent wifi issue as well as the data cutting in and out from 1x to 3g. i also noticed that on DFT rom the GPS is off one minute it works fine next minute it shows you 3 streets over and the GPS is re routing you. Hoping for some perfect data here! Thanks for all your hard work!!!

thx a lot, it is complex but if there are new Tango ROMs there must also be cab for update from 8107 to 8733 or???

I also have another issue I have US Cellular as my carrier and for some reason when I leave my home area my data on my phone will not roam even with the data roam option turned on when I talked with US Cellular Tech support they wanted me to use the ##778# code to reconfig my phone with my data profile but the ## codes don't work on this romfor some reason after flashing basck to a US Cellular rom my phone data connection would roam the update data profile and prl did nothing and the ##codes don't work and also my MMS doesn't work because the rom is configured with sprint but I don't knowhow to change the MMS to us cellular unless the ## codes work is there any way to fix these issues

So have been on this rom for well over a week now and while it is a great rom, it unfortunately suffers from the same data issue as the dft freedom roms have. Other than the phone switching to 1x alot, the rom is quite stable and really good. I have no complaints. I will however say that the rate at which the data switches is less than that on the dft rom. Maybe if someone could get a rom that is unlocked and has the data issue fixed that would be the purrrrfect rom! Thanks again ansar I definitely do appreciate all your hard work. I love love love my wp7.

On a side note went to the Dave Matthews concert last week here in Cleveland and every single person I see taking pictures was with an iPhone it was seriously ridiculous! I mean EVERY single phone was an iPhone! Feels good to be different

I didn't know it had data issues? Dropped calls? Just wondering on my end here. Is there anything newer or updated out there like DFT as updated as Ansar. It's been a good while since Ansar's dropped in here.

I am 30 seconds away from installing but...

Hello Community!

I am hoping that someone can help set my mind at ease. I use to be with AT&T with a Touch Pro 2. At that time I was a rom addict and flashed a new rom about every 1-2 weeks. Upon moving to Sprint I was sad to see there was no development for the Arrive. WooHoo!!! Now there is and thank you for all involved.

I have so far read everything in the forum and one post stood out to me as I have not seen any comments on it. The post is quoted below. I remember when I started researching months ago that there was a Chevron unlock, and then it got removed or something... But I don't know all the facts.

I have everything downloaded and ready to go and the plan was to flash today, but if I can pose a question to the forum, why not. I think honestly maybe I just need someone to put this in to context. By the way, I just got a replacement phone through my warranty, so I have not yet updated to Mango. My Bootloader is still 1.25.230506.1(118490). So my questions are these.

1) Does the quoted post below and the need for U2M8107_v1.2.xap mean anything with regards to possible bricking, and what benefit would I see from doing a developers unlock, or once you do the hspl, is the phone just unlocked?

2) I see that some are having data errors, even on the DFT Rom. Has this been troublesome enough for some, that they wish they had not done the flashing?

&

3) How do you know if you have to downgrade your SPL using RUU_Gold_C_Sprint_WWE_1.29.563.02_Radio_1.51.00.01_23.12W.05.06U_NoDo_Signed_by_ansar. My CURRENT VERSION OF SPL is: 1.25.230506.1(118490)

Link to U2M8107_v1.2.xap on OP is dead & cant seem to find it otherwise on google. Links are all dead now. But none the less, when & if I find, how will I get developer unlocked in order to install it?

I have tried alternate chevron method but it doesnt work for any WP7 versions with copy and paste enabled. See following:

- if your device have software version 7004-7008 you can use Chevron for unlocking

- if you already upgrade to NoDo or Mango via Zune, then you can try restore to 7004-7008 also via Zune....

How can I get Chevron unlock, where do I get U2M8107_v1.2.xap, & what is proper deployment procedure?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Can anyone address the following:

1) Network data error on boot
2) Only open wifi network connecting, cant connect to secure wireless.
3) Bluetooth will not stay on after pairing.
4) When using wired headset, volume is very low & cant be increased. Headset is useless for calls. Works fine with music.
