Soooo I was just reading up on the change log. For tomorrow there is a commit regarding Bluetooth for Fords. Well, I figured I share my quirky issue. When I'm using Bluetooth audio to my '12 535i my SGSII screen stays on. I have to press the power button to force the screen to sleep. I have tried to reproduce the issue in another vehicle with Bluetooth audio. The phone screen does not act the same. I also use Bluetooth earphones for running/gym etc in which case the phone screen acts as it should, timing out. Isn't that weird? I'm only posting because I've not read anything about this before on XDA and I figured maybe someone would be interested or have a similar experience.
The issue is persistent throughout all nightly builds and since I've noticed the issue I've performed many wipes and factory resets. I've also looked at the log view-able using CatLog but I don't see anything that I could point out. Maybe there is a different log I should be looking at. Nonetheless this doesn't really bother me as I am used to it and it's not causing anything crazy to happen so whatevs. :D

I was going to say the same thing earlier but (in a whisper) I was scared to say anything about another kernel here. :D But truthfully I use Siyah in my rig and have not experienced any of the recent phone problems I am reading about.

Was having the same issue with phone reboots related to calls on 5/21 nightly, flashed Fluxi XX kernel and no more reboots.

interesting, I just tried on the lastest nightly and in fact that switch I'm referring to works - i.e. when UMTS selected, indicator never leaves 3g state. However I compared speeds of HSDPA enabled with UMTS and there is no difference: 4Mbit/1Mbit up/down at my location. I thought that no-HSDPA speed should be lower than 4Mbits....

I'm on the old unlimited plan which is still 3g and I've hit 5mbit down before. I can't move to the 4g plan cause I still have the 200 text message plan as well which they don't offer anymore. I can get full hsdpa but it'll cost me more cause I'll have to pay for the unlimited texts now.

IIRC, all plans are the same speed. They just give you a different sim card based on your phone. When I switched from an iPhone to the I777, they gave me a 4G sim. When I get an LTE phone, I'll have to get an LTE sim. The plan doesn't mandate what type of connectivity you have though.

I'm on unlimited and I've hit 10mbps down before.

Just flashed the 5/22 nightly build and it would appear that phone is working again. :)

I just called my home and let it go to voice mail <-- NO reboots! Yay!

I also called my SGSII and answered <-- No reboots! Yay!

Again, this is all stock using stock CM9 kernel...I did NOT try using the Fluxxi kernel.

Well I still have my 3g sim and was indeed told by a rep at an att store and the guys I work with at best buy that I won't get those speeds until I change to the 4g unlimited plan they have for us grandfathered folks. As long as your plan didnt have one of the old messaging plans attached they automatically put you on the 4g unlimited plan when you went from iPhone to the i777. I was told they would've for me but I have that text package attached from back when I had a blackberry 4 years ago and they can't do it unless I drop it. There's threads here about the old unlimited plans too that have confirmed it. I've watched a brand new tiered plan gs2 in the store hit 9mbps while mine topped out at 4 standing right next to the guy..

anyone noticing reduced wifi bars or they keep chaging from 3 to 4 bars in recent nightlies. I don't have any wifi problem, but in places where i used to get constant full 4 bars get this fluctuations.

also, it is confirmed phone calls crashing and rebooting was fixed in latest nightly.

No probs here, wifi strong as heck like always, on today's build. I am using fluxi kernel, not sure if that would affect it.

Hi,

I've been looking at excess battery drain in CM9 and think I might be on to something.
http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=26400973&postcount=718

If you are experiencing unusual battery drain and think it might be wifi related, could you try disabling Google location service (NOT GPS, see attached screenshot -- uncheck 'Google location service') and see if it has a significant impact on battery life?

Thanks!

I disabled this about a week ago and saw a huge positive impact on battery life, i.e. my phone can now make it to the end of the day on one charge.

Definitely give this a try for a day or two if you're having issues.

Oh yeah. I work at Best Buy too. Not in the mobile dept though. I'm a CSM. I didn't know about the texting package. I've always had unlimited texting, so they switched me to a 4G unlimited plan.

I am still on 5/18. My wifi shuts off and turn back on again several times a day while the screen is on. Anyone notice the same? Is it the same on newer builds?

5/19 completely mess up my phone and I had to revert. Also saw phone call issues mentioned. Is the latest build good again?

latest 5/22 build seems good so far.
I noticed it upgraded to the 3.0.22 kernel.
Any idea why that's not included in the changelog?

5.22 is working well, calls complete, etc..

5.19 worked well for me

5.20/5.21 could not connect phone calls.

3.0.32 merge happened on 0521 nightly from what I can see.
http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#i777//1337694184

The tree for the kernel CyanogenMod/android_kernel_samsung_smdk4210 isn't included in the changelog for the I777 or the GT-I9100 so you have to go to here to see kernel merges: http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/q/s...anogenMod/android_kernel_samsung_smdk4210,n,z

Edit: Looks like the 3.0.32 update was pushed without a Gerrit project so that would require looking here: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_kernel_samsung_smdk4210/commits/ics

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.0 (ICS), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

First time installing CyanogenMod 9 to your AT&T Galaxy S II (SGH-I777), or coming from another ROM:
    - READ FAQs: http://teamhacksung.org/wiki/index.php/Experimental:GT-I9100:Frequently_Asked_Questions
    - Make sure you're running SGH-I777 bootloaders only (only the ones that are specifically released for the SGH-I777 -- official Gingerbread bootloaders work fine!) and a proper working CWM like the one from CM7
    - Copy GApps and CM9 ZIPs to your internal SDCard
    - Boot into Recovery
    - Flash CM9 zip
    - Flash GApps zip
    - DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your calendar sync will not work)
    - Reboot
    - Don't restore Apps using Titanium Backup!

Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9:
    - Copy CM9 ZIP to your internal SDCard
    - Boot into Recovery
    - Flash CM9 zip
    - Wipe cache partition and dalvik-cache
    - Reboot

    STOP!!!

What I don't quite get is why there are nightly builds of this ROM but no fix yet to the audio bug.

Overall it is a pretty sweet ROM, and compared to the leaked ATT ICS ROM it kicks ass. The att rom is a bugging bloat ridden piece of crap.

The audio bug impacts the ROM as a daily driver, so much works right about the ROM but this bug in particular makes it a pain to use. Being able to receive a text while listening to streaming music and receiving a notification and have the music return to the previous sound level just does not seem like too much to ask.
Because this "bug" hasn't impacted any developers and we've got a ton of other things to fix.

ICS KERNEL SOURCE HAS ONLY BEEN OUT THREE WEEKS.

IT HAD FUNDAMENTAL STABILITY BUGS WE DIDN'T FIND FIXES FOR UNTIL DAYS AGO.

THIS WEEKEND IS EASTER AND SOME OF US HAD HOLIDAY PREP TO DO LAST WEEK. WE HAVE OUR OWN LIVES YOU KNOW!

WE DON'T EXIST TO SERVE YOU.

Submit a fix to gerrit or stop *****ing and wait!
    15
codeworkx's tree is untested - it keeps derping. Looks like I'll have to temporarily rip out NFC.

It's 1:35 AM, I'm about to go to bed regardless of whether it builds or not.
    14
TriangleAway can be used on ICS to reset the flash counter.

Video recording upgrades are not merged in yet - it's in progress. No ETAs, but it's close. Don't ask when, of course - there are many reasons why a patch that works on our device will get rejected until rewritten in a way that doesn't break other devices.

A major dock audio cleanup by StevenHarperUK is in progress. It's working on my device now, so it's a matter of getting through code review.

I submitted a new kernel to gerrit that fixes stability issues when changing cpufreq min/max limits (e.g. fixes SetCPU profiles).

I'm going to hop over to TW-land for a while to do some stuff, then I think I might play with NFC.

    Great. So 4/20 ****S **** UP AGAIN!

More mount point changes? Now all my gameloft apps that I JUST fixed last night are redownloading app data again. Same with my dropbox, as well as my spotify AGAIN.

Why are they doing this!!!??? THIS IS 2 TIMES I'M gonna have to RESTORE to get my **** right again. I mean, I get the first swap of mount points. It was needed to match other devices, but it's royally screwed my device. AGAIN!

Maybe some warning in PLAIN ENGLISH is in order. I'm about to give up on CM9.

get lost. your post is ridiculous. is this your rom? did you take any part in the development of this rom? NO and NO!!! how do you have any right to ***** or complain about something that you have NOTHING to do with? YOU DON'T! if you don't like it, FIX IT YOURSELF and submit it to gerritt and see if your changes get merged. either do something about it yourself or switch to a different rom. its that easy. no one forced you to use this rom. your post doesn't get you any closer to your solution so i'm not quite sure why you even posted this bull**** other then to complain about something that you have no right or control over. think about it.
