Re: [UPDATED] NV / 4G LTE Deployment Running List as of Feb 12th

I think the 2% Portland has done was being tested the otherday. I didn't even know there was any progress, turned on lte. Amazing speeds for like 6 hours.

^^^^^ yeah, it sucks. I feel like we northwesterners don't even exist to sprint. I'm assuming we'll never get it lol. :(

From my Evo LTE, yup.

I agree completely, I've thought about jumping ship to verizon many times.

Well I hope I get a taste of lte soon then! Northern CT just jumped from 3% to 5% a few days ago. Today it jumped another 5 and is at 10%. Guess they doing some major work out here!

Looks like Disney World is lit up pretty good. Anyone live near, visited, or works there can confirm?

don't let sensorly fool you..It looks like disney is on fire with LTE but it is indeed very spotty through out the parks..(was there this passed weekend)

i did map the turnpike to west palm again this passed week on sensorly and remember that lonely tower in the middle of no where..Well his brothers showed up for the party..I almost had 4G the whole way from Osceola to west palm on the FLTP...Was cool to lock on to 4G for so long but the Turnpike down that route has always had an awesome 3G signal so its not really that big a deal.

Looks like we are close to 20% in Philadelphia......hopefully Sprint is going to flip the switch soon......

The current 3g performance makes me feel like I 'm living in the ghetto.

Re: [UPDATED] NV / 4G LTE Deployment Running List as of Feb 12th

I see they moved the anticipated launch in L.A. to Feb. Let's see, they were wrong about September. They were wrong about Oct. They were wrong about Nov, Dec, and now Jan.

I'm sure they're right about February though.

Doesn't matter to me. My HTC EVO LTE can't handle an LTE signal anyway!

Wow, they were wrong again! Who would have guessed?

I now predict they will launch in April. I know, it says March. But I predict April.

Unless it's delayed till May. In that case, June. Possibly July. Or August. Definitely by September. September, early October.

For sure November. No later than December.

Unless....

I heard they are watching your posts and just wanted you to be right, but since you keep changing your mind they keep delaying "launch".

But I digress. They are working in the LA area, no? They haven't completely ignored the area, yes?

uploadfromtaptalk1361016021083.jpg

It could be worse, right? Ish happens.

That's life, it's not as big of a deal as you make it to be. Just saying.

Here's my area I for one am happy seeing as I'm in a second round market.

To all you people complaining about your percentage not being high enough... at least you have a percentage!! Phoenix is still one of the only markets left in the entire country without any percentage completion shown. It's been at TBD for months now. And with the completion date of a lot of these that are much farther being not til late 2013 I don't see much hope in the near future for us here in AZ!

But hey, I'm a patient guy I can wait. I don't plan on jumping off the Sprint ship anytime soon because when my LTE comes at least it will be unlimited so I can make up for all the missed time.

Re: [UPDATED] NV / 4G LTE Deployment Running List as of Feb 12th

It really isn't all that impressive, especially when you can't get a connection. My area has got LTE according to Sensorly, but the signal is so bad I've hardly been able to connect. Granted only a small number of towers have been updated for the market and I'm sure coverage will be better once the rest are finished, but this is a joke.

Re: [UPDATED] NV / 4G LTE Deployment Running List as of Feb 20th

I'd like to note that upgrading isn't a fast process... A lot of people wonder why lte doesnt hit the big cities .. its because they are a pain in the ass to upgrade.. so sprint is doing these major overhauls and rebuilding everything.. I work on AT&T towers and the process is slow.. I expect sprint to be even slower.. if you guys want me to explain the process lemme know.

Re: [UPDATED] NV / 4G LTE Deployment Running List as of Feb 20th

If this site is being built brand new, it can take a very long time.. most these sites already have very old technology so since its still up and running you can't take anything offline.. once they get the approval, they send out deliveries that have a very specific list for each site. Materials not only in the building but also for the tower crew.. once the deliveries arrive they are thoroughly inventoried. If you are working at a site 100miles in the middle of nowhere missing something is a very big deal.. every nut and bolt has a specific role.. First time I ever heard of 'aircraft washers" you can't really find these at your local hardware store. So very crucial to have all your supplies.. Different trades work together to complete the upgrade.. so for instance..

electricians, cable structure engineers, it techs, carrier techs, tower crew, wireless contractors whose sole purpose is to nit pick every single detail..

Anytime you go onto a site you have to call the carrier and give them access info, and what your going to be doing for that day.. so for instance tower crew would say "installing reh antennas" .. fill out safety form, ect.. and you can't even work yet till those are complete.. .

AT&T is very ocd about everything and any task for instance running ground wires to 700mhz (lte) radios has to be tied down with wax string only.. your bend radius can be 90 degrees or you fail your inspection.. so say your done with a site.. usually takes 1-2 weeks.. carrier tech performs an inspection and will gig you on any flaw on the site.. after 5 gigs the company who was responsible for the gigs, is 800 dollars.. but before that inspector comes out, you have 2 before him that try to help out the trades, see if there are any flaws and give them time to fix there issue.. sometimes fixing everything can take up to a week.. almost in month and the site still isn't complete.. After the rigorous inspections another trade comes into test the connections.. if there are fails they get the appropriate trade to fix the failed connectors.. that can take 2-3 days to fix and retest.. now you got the IT techs to install there stuff and configure the radios and make sure everything is working correctly.. once all that is complete than, they set it off to the outside world. So from start to finish one site roughly 2months.

Now they usually have 5 to 6 crews working on diff sites.. so yes very time consuming process.

Memphis needs to hurry then, I can't play ps3 online without fast Internet.

    The LTEVO says hello!

You are part of the reason that sprints network is so slow, and why sprint is considering stopping unlimited data. There is a huge difference between mobile data and landline data. Online gaming, and torrent downloading are the absolute worst things you can do to the mobile network, as it clogs the network horribly. Spend the extra 30 bones and get landline service to your residence. Not to mention that sprint isn't as dumb as you think, and if they see you transmitting "data packets" they will immediately terminate your contract. I'm not starting a fight, just informing you that people that abuse tethering will screw up unlimited data for the rest of us...
