I thought it was HBOOT 2.14 that causes the touchscreen issue for AOSP roms?
I used the 2.20 RUU, so your saying if I flashed HBOOT 2.14 I wouldn't have these issues?

The touchscreen firmware is separate from HBOOT but they were both "upgraded" by those JB OTA's so HBOOT version was used an indicator of touchscreen firmware version.

[How-To] Downgrade your Touch Panel's firmware (and upgrade back)
↑this is only for folks that took jb ota↑
Nothing to do with Hboot.
[Edit] 2.14 happens to have the touch panel kernel changes
Sent from my HOX w/CM10.1 4.2.2 s-off :)

Ok thank you, so HBOOT 2.14 wouldn't cause issues I suppose but is there any benefits for it? I am sticking with ViperXL and am on 1.09 HBOOT, Do you recommend just sticking with 1.09?

Yes 2.14 would cause touch screen issues with aosp cause of the firmware that came with the ota update. If you are originally 1.09 no worries about any changing Hboot. And YES I personally would stick with 1.09 as that's what I have and don't want to have to fastboot flash boot.IMG to change ROMs.

Ok thanks I will just stick with that, I did have 1.14 but I ran the RUU and removed tampered text, then made a custom 1.09 with removed dev text and updated build date lol

Good to know. Fortunately, I used the very original RUU: PJ83IMG_Evita_UL_Rogers_WWE_1.73.631.1_Radio_0.16a.32.09.06_10.81.32.14L_release_254934_signed.zip

And now I am officially S-Off with no tampered/red text, and LOCKED status on AOKP 4.2.2. :)

Now I just have to figure out if it's worth flashing a new radio like 3.17...

LOCKED status? you just changed it to say LOCKED? or are you actually RELOCKED? with S-OFF we don't need the bootloader unlock anymore? or is that not what you meant.

Heh the recent mods released have made my phone simply awesome. Maybe I don't need the HTC one after all.

Removed that ugly red text quick and easy, thanks! I figure I will stick with the tampered and unlocked or whatever it says, seems like too much work!

Awesome:laugh: job - I followed the process for removing the red writing. Worked well and I customised. Then I thought why not do the lot. Followed your process - Slowest part was downloading the RUU. So when that was happening I went through the HTCDev unlock and downloaded TWRP.

Then when all downloaded the process took about 20 mins. Great job Thx :D

    Remove Tampered Text!

    S-Off required
This is quite a lengthy process but this will remove the tampered text competely and not leave just a blank space at the top, you will need adb, fastboot, 2.20 RUU, recovery img and your Unlock_code.bin, so here goes:

First of all do a FULL backup in recovery (your phone will be wiped so dont miss doing this!)
While your phone is doing that heave over here to download the 2.20 RUU: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1814217
When backup has completely reboot into fastboot
    do: fastboot oem lock
    Reboot into Bootloader
    Run the RUU downloaded earlier
When it has finished do: fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin (Dont panic if this fails, it failed for me all you need to do is go to HTCDev and unlock bootloader following the instructions)
When that has completed go back into fastboot and flash your recovery back: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img (twrp.img or whatever img your recovery is called)
Once done enter recovery and restore the backup you made earlier
After this you are all done for the main part but remember you flashed an RUU so everything an RUU flashes needs to be flashed back to what you want, this means reflash the HBoot, Splash image, radio and anything else that the RUU changes that you want to be different from the RUU
Done! Enjoy no tampered text in Bootloader :D

For those that want a quick easy flash with only red text removed please scroll down

For One XL/Evita Only! Hboot only will be flashed. S-Off is required. This can be flashed on any HBoot and can be used to easily downgrade hboot.

Can anyone work out what causes the loading bar to show or disappear?

    New method, customize your HBoot!

Please note this method is currently untested (although I have hex compared the before and after hboots and all the changes seem 100% fine)

I have made plug-ins for RegawMOD Bootloader Customizer

RegawMOD Bootloader Customizer allows you to remove the red text or change it to something else, change s-off text to s-on, change the build date/time and change the *** Unlocked *** text

Download the main app from here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1786498

Then download the plug-ins from here: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=38216901&postcount=89

Choose the plug-in dependant on what version of hboot you want

Place the plug-in and RegawMOD Bootloader Customizer exe in the same directory and open the exe. Choose your options and create a zip and place that zip in your adb folder

boot into bootloader and enter fastboot mode.
    do:
    fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip PJ83IMG.zip (Or whatever you called the zip when you saved it)
    fastboot reboot

Quick simple flash that only removes red text:

Here it is for anyone that wants it:

    HBoot 1.09: http://d-h.st/bt9
    HBoot 1.14: http://d-h.st/pZ1
    HBoot 2.14: http://d-h.st/J1T
HBoot 2.15: http://d-h.st/toS (Thanks to exad)
    HBoot 2.18: http://d-h.st/Tnu

Make sure you have fastboot and adb installed
Place downloaded file in same directory as fastboot and adb is installed
boot into bootloader and enter fastboot mode.
    do:
    fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip RemoveText-1.09.zip (for 2.14 version RemoveText-2.14.zip)
    fastboot reboot

This simply mods the hboot to remove the red text

Some people report issues with erase cache command, if you have the problem to fix simply go into recovery and wipe cache

This has been flashed and confirmed 100% working but as always we need a disclaimer:
I can not be held responsible for this zip please flash at your own risk!!

Since we ripped the new 2.15 hboot from the European OTA, I thought I would create a no red text splash hboot for those who just want to remove the red splash, and a plugin for those who want to add some swag to their bootloader screen.

I have already tested it myself.

    No red text hboot: http://d-h.st/toS

    Plugin: http://d-h.st/4pR
