Update

Some update from my side -

When I flashed the RUU in this thread, I was facing many issues e.g.: launcher used to get hung for long period of time, back key did not work reliably etc.

Then I found out that, the RUU in this thread has version: 4.05.401.1. But the Viper and TrickDroid etc are using version: 4.06.401.1. So I decided to first flash the RUU to get 4.05.401.1 and then without reboot just flash the firmware for 4.06.401.1.
The steps I followed are as below -

0. BACKUP THE WHOLE SD-CARD (since it is erased due to upgrade in hboot version and/or partition scheme changes)

1. Put the phone into fastboot mode
sudo ./adb reboot-bootloader

2. Ensure PC is able to detect the phone in fastboot mode
sudo ./fastboot devices

3. Start the RUU mode
sudo ./fastboot oem rebootRUU

4. Flash the rom.zip corresponding to RUU for version 4.05.401.1
sudo ./fastboot flash zip rom_4.05.401.1.zip

5. When there is pre-flush error, issue the same command in (4) again

6. Once the flashing completes, do not reboot the phone

7. Flash the firmware.zip corresponding to RUU for version 4.06.401.1. You can find it on this forum, please search.
sudo ./fastboot flash zip firmware_4.06.401.1.zip

8. Erase the cache
sudo ./fastboot erase cache

9. Reboot the phone
sudo ./fastboot reboot

With these steps, I am not seeing the issues I mentioned previously. The battery life is also good (i.e.: sufficient for me).

I thought of sharing this info here so that others could try it (on their risk, of course !!). Hit the thanks button if it helped you.

NOTE: I used Linux machine for playing with my phone. I have folder called "bin" in my home folder which has the binaries for "fastboot" and "adb" in it. This "bin" folder is also added into the "PATH" enviornment variable for shell. Please adjust the paths according to your enviornment.

Could somebody with this ROM installed quickly check their YouTube app? For some reason the only quality settings available to me are Auto, 144p, 240p and 360p (no option for 480p, 720p or 1080p on any video I watch). Just want to confirm if it is an issue with my install, or the ROM before I reinstall it. Thanks.

Hi,

First of all thanks for a great ROM. Been using it for 3 weeks and its been really good for a daily. Just have a few questions:

How can I change the 4G icon? The icon works but I think it needs a resize because it occupies a lot of space (horizontally) that it pushes other icons past the center already. Especially when I have bluetooth and GPS on, they're already on the left side. On 2G it was ok.

Is there a way to add Tmobile Wifi Calling on this ROM? I tried the flashable zip from another thread but it didn't work.

I figured out the 4g icons. I just re sized the png icon in SystemUI and its now fixed. I actually using a 4G LTE icon even if it is not LTE. ;)

Just Wifi Calling. Hope someone can help me out with that.

What happened to me last time was it was always 2g. But that happened even before I flashed this ROM. I remembered I flashed my stock ROM and it fixed it. I get 4g on stock ROM. I flashed this ROM and I get 4g. Not sure what other options you have. Sorry if I can't be of help.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you so ****ing much. I tried for one week to get cm11 (later any other ROM) working on my HTC One S ville with Unlocked Hboot 2.15, S-Off. Nothing works, but after this RUU updated the phone I was able to install a newer TWRP and get CM11 to work.

I would go with a LineageOS 14.1 (https://xdaforums.com/htc-one-s/development/7-1-lineage14-1-htc-one-s-ville-t3540981) in 2018 and don't stay with a 4.x Android :p

    Android 4.2.2 e Sense 5 Stock HTC One S

This is a RUU 4.2.2 Sense 5 STOCK(it's a unofficial and modded RUU), found on internet.
I tried it and certify that it is running at 100%.
For those who are still with HBOOT 2.15 Radio 1:15 and wants to upgrade to sense5, this is an alternative to the procedure of MaximusHD.
After you have HBOOT 2.16 Radio 1.20 Android 4.2.2 Sense 5
    .

I DON'T HAVE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR INCORRECT USE

I don't know who originally put it on the internet
    Eventually thanks go to him

Thx for sharing this, I didn't know if that ruu upragde the 2.16 hboot, now I do :)

But do we really need to relock the bootloader before running this ?
When we had to do the manual update for maximus that wasn't needed, and whenever I wanted to run any ruu I never had to relock the bl

    S-OFF and CID HTC_203

I had some problems to downgrade hboot yesterday.
One S seemed lost and no RUU 4.1.1 flashed properly for me
This RUU literally saved up my phone and everything is back to normal
So I thought to share it with you all .....
but someone here already knew this RUU

this update (the zip only, not the RUU installer that is the original one) is out since September (for what i can remember it was posted on a chinese forum one day before Llabtoofer Maximus HD 10 release) and it's not signed, so you need to be S-OFF :)
