Re: [ROM][SPH-L900][JB][4.2.1] CyanogenMod 10.1 official nightlies

I Updated the OP with a bug list, might have missed some but I will go back and check.

Once this commit is merged: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/31141/
the nightlies will have working orientation/mag sensors and rotation will kick in immediately.

That's why you are sbrissen. Thank you sir.

Ran into an odd issue tonight...

While on WiFi and my Bluetooth headset connected, I made a call from the dialer. As the call appeared to be connecting, I used the on screen button to select the handset earpiece rather than the headset due to the crackling issue.

My call never went through, but the timer was counting.

I turned off WiFi, then the headset, but the call never went through. I pressed the end button, but the system hung there. After another minute, I long pressed the power button and selected reboot. The phone hung at rebooting for another minute. Finally, I had to do a battery pull and reboot.

I was able to connect to the mobile network and make my call.

It's just an APK that you install as an app - found in numerous areas around XDA. I'll post it here for you.

Thanks for the apk, in the past, it was a flashable zip because some system data was needed. Just a straight install didn't work. I haven't used CM since I had my GS2 pos.

Dies this still have the call issues where you need to call 3 times before it works?

I tried looking at the change log, FAQ's, and known issues but get a 404 page not found.

This never had that issue. That was strictly an issue on earlier builds for the GSM note 2. Just check the OP for known issues.

Re: [ROM][SPH-L900][JB][4.2.1] CyanogenMod 10.1 official nightlies

I'm getting an issue connecting to 5ghz WiFi. also no google now voice is a downer...

hdmi adapter doesnt work... you can see it trying to work (launcher goes landscape when it's not set to do that normally) but no signal reaches the tv...

another issue that might be "me" specific usb otg works great, however the one thing I used a LOT was a usb stick that isn't a usb stick, it's a usb adapter for micro sd cards. now cm 10.1 has managed to do on accident what I tried, and failed, to do on purpose both in touchwiz, Linux, and 3 different Windows versions: it recognized the sd card INSIDE the usb adapter AS AN SD CARD. the problem is it did this while I already had an external sd card inside the device so what it did was try and combine the two into one massive external one, fail, and completely destroy the file system of the card that was in the adapter... I don't know if anything can be done to fix this, or if anyone cares but I just felt like venting this one. oh and Windows manned to get my files back

one last thing, is there any way to get spen button to work on this one?

MHL does not and will never work unfortunately. For the WiFi issue, you can go to WiFi settings > advanced > set wifi frequency from auto to 5ghz.

I can see the networks, it just doesn't connect. going to advanced only removes 2.4ghz networks, I still have the same problem

My phones time keeps freezing at random times. Luckily I woke up last night and noticed it or else i probably would have been way late today for work.
Anyone else with this issue?

I'm having issues sending MMS. I searched but found nothing on the issue.

I've tried on LTE & CDMA with no success. Any ideas? TIA

I have flashed 01/29 and this is great, I started using it as a daily driver and have had nearly no issues. It did freeze up during a call and I had to pull battery, and so far the exchange services seem to be hanging up and eating at the battery. Other then that it is very solid and BT audio works without any issues.

Its because you need to format card to fat32, that is in all the op's, cm reads only fat32. So the card is not damaged. If that helps.

I understand the rom can only read fat 32 I voted back to a regular tw rom to copy my data off and reformat but my tw rom says it is bad. I put it in my computer it says its bad. I know it is not cause twrp reads it just fine. .
I need to get my data off to refirmat it..but how can I do that since no one can read it. The op says to flash this restore zip which I did but that did not help

Re: [ROM][SPH-L900][JB][4.2.1] CyanogenMod 10.1 official nightlies

Google voice and everything is fine. The nightlies have been my daily since the first one.. Bugs that I have found include +camera becoming "disconnected" if you piss it off by switching between apps and the camera really fast, +list scrolling is slowish, +MMS not working, +DSP Manager has no effect (in Pandora anyway, maybe it's only designed for the music app), +creates emulated/legacy and emulated/0 folders which mirror the internal SD card, tried updating twrp and fully wiping everything before install.

Can't think of anything else at the moment, these are minor issues and this ROM is totally stable and ready to be a daily. Or maybe I'm just tired of looking at bloated touchwiz haha.

Thanks cm team!

Yeah I would love to have MMS working! That fix seems OP worthy haha, wonder why the firmware fixes an issue only in cm? And released at the same time...?

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.2 (JB), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Thank you sbrissen for developing for this awesome device and all of our donators who made it possible! None of this would have happened without you guys :)

You will lose S Pen and other Touchwiz functionality if you flash this but here is how you can get some of that functionality back!
    1. S Pen works (try out the app Papyrus as a replacement to S Note, Papyrus does utilize the S Pen button as well).
    2. Air View works (Go to settings, Language & input, check "Show icon when using stylus".
    3. The S Pen button works (Go to settings, Language & input, Stylus gestures, those all use the s pen button).
    4. Pop up browser = OverSkreen from the Google Play Store.
    5. I use the 4.2 Camera on Touchwiz anyway. There are plenty of good camera apps in the market if you want more features.
    6. Multiwindow. There is no alternative, dont ask.
And here's some alternatives to Touchwiz apps (PM me if you want me to add something!)
    Code:
    [URL="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myboyfriendisageek.stickit"]Stick it! (Pop-up Player)[/URL]
[URL="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.clov4r.android.nil&hl=en"]MoboPlayer[/URL]- It's another very capable, free video player with floating player functionality. Plus its free!

If you want to downgrade back to a 4.1.x ROM, flash the restore-sdcard-after-downgrade.zip attached below AFTER flashing back to 4.1.x ROM. Your storage situation will be how it was pre-CM10.1 flash. Thanks to madmack for the file.

Screenshot thing is a known issue.

Also, guys I'm glad your all crazy about the CM10.2 thing but this is still the 10.1 thread. So can we please keep it on topic?

I'll start a cm10.2 thread shortly with builds. the screenshot issue is because of the "legacy" mali gpu blobs. until we get blobs that work properly with 4.3 there will be graphic issues
