Re: Tales of our X8's and W8's !
Here is my story:
2 of my class mates got X8 at Christmas of 2010, and another guy at the beginning of 2011. One of them tried nearly everything that was possible on X8.
My dad bought an X8 in august(2012) and showed me. First thing I noticed was a non-Xperia lockscreen. I checked phone info and android version was 2.3! It had GingerDX v22 installed when he bought it. In september I bought an X8 too, the reseller unlocked it, I got home, sat down, and...
...
SuperOneClick, BusyBox, xRecovery
I backed up my stock ROM, then tried to install GingerDX v22.
I read that I need CWM for its .zip, but I couldn't find any tutorials for CWM.
Installed RootBrowser, deleted xrecovery.tar, renamed recovery.tar to xrecovery.tar, copied it to /system and rebooted into recovery.
CWM started, installed .zip, full wipe, reboot.
It worked perfectly, but then I decided to install busybox again. After reboot I got bootloop.
I couldn't reflash stock, because phone did not stay in flashmode.
Next day my classmate reflashed it and while it was booting for the first time I discovered a strange line in FlashTool console:
Bootloader status: ROOTED
As soon as it booted we powered it off and flashed nAa-14 and MiniCM7.
But who did the BL unlock? It had stock when I bought it.
The ansver: the reseller unlocked it when he SIM-unlocked it for me. He used SETool.
