Yeah, my reference to "that partition" was ambiguous, but I was talking about the boot partition. Modifying that would keep it from booting. If you read into what Hashcode is suggesting, you'll notice that he's not touching that at all.

Correct, the only way to do custom boot.img's on a locked device is via kexec / 2nd-boot. And that's a bit complicated so it takes a while.

hashcode and everyone else working on this
thank you times a million for all your hard work

just got back from the army working in communications, hashcode ive followed your work for a long time now especially since the d3 and i wanna say thank you for helping me keep an up to date phone that i can communicate with the folks back home with. now that im home and have a stable work environment to start delving into actual development im hoping to contribute some of my own work.
